Yeah.... no.

It honestly just sounds like you're not very interested in hacking your switch.

I can speak for myself.

It doesn't matter what CFW you use, they will all work. The guide I linked has the benefit of not needing to visit multiple sites to get all the files, you can download it all as one zip.

Does it explain how to use AutoRCM? Sorry, and thank you.

Yes, it has instructions for Hekate.
Enabling AutoRCM
AutoRCM is an optional software method of forcing your Switch to go into RCM on every launch, without the need of a jig or hardmod. Essentially, you are purposefully bricking your Switch in a controlled matter that forces it to launch into recovery. This might sound scary but is not actually dangerous, and can be undone at any time.

By doing this, you will need to use a payload sender to boot your Switch after every restart/shutdown.

  1. Enter Hekate
  2. Select 'Tools > AutoRCM > Enable AutoRCM'
You can disable AutoRCM by entering the same menu above and selecting 'Disable AutoRCM'.

From now on, to boot into stock firmware, select 'Launch > Stock' in Hekate.

Dumb question but since it comes with cores already. Can we add one into the folder say like N64/Gamecube? Will it work/run at all?

I can't seem to find anything conclusive about using ExFAT formatted cards with Retroarch, though I recall seeing some mentions of it being involved with memory corruption. Anyone care to chime in on this, and perhaps if that was indeed the case... Was it resolved in the new official build?

Thanks in advance.

It works fine. I've been using exfat all this time and never got corruption.

Not having to use those damn RCM jig every time, that's why. And no, I don't trust bridging/shorting those two pins, either, ruining the console possibly. I don't
have money for a second console. Is it wrong to want to have a more streamlined solution to CFW? Is it wrong to want to see a scene where permanent CFW can be
installed without having to use a jig?

Edit: The risks involved and tedium in getting homebrew to run is unmotivating to me. Hell, even the Wii U had permanent CFW.
It's not wrong, but is annoying being constantly complaining about it, the only choice you have is either risk it or wait...

Hi ! Sorry if this was asked before, but I have a few questions :

1) How to keep retroarch config when updating ? I know all the settings are located in retroarch.cfg (right ?).
Well, okay, all I have to do is to keep that file when replacing the old build with a new one.
But what if retroarch.cfg gets updated too ? (Is it at least possible ?) How to merge the update with my settings ?

2) I didn't care before, but now that retroarch comes with a lot of useful online features, such as updating cores, boxarts and retro-achievements ; how to connect my switch to internet without being ban ? Is there a DNS that blocks all Big N connections or anything else ?
I know I'm banning myself doing that, but I have a clean nand backup in case I want to go online one day.

Thanx a lot !
