Switch with Trinket M0 installed working perfect for a month or so. Battery died and haven't been able to charge or power on.

AutoRCm was on at time of battery dying - Have charged for 2 days with Autorcm on and nothing. Have charged for 2 days with Autorcm off and nothing.

Have had this issue before and was able to get battery charged no issues

Open to any suggestions

I think you probably stuck with rcm mode. Try to charge your baterry using another Nintendo Switch. After that turn on your switch and tell us what happens

If the Trinket is soldered remember it also suck battery while OFF and might suck Switch battery beyond waking point...

The more used\cycled battery the bigger the chance of it not waking anymore or waking with considerable capacity loses, when newer its always easier to bring it back to life...

Avoid over-discharging the battery constantly specially because as much easy as it is to buy a new one, lots of them might be fake batteries that look original and might never hold the true original capacity of the original one...

I'm tired on phones buying something that looks original and with proper logos and the seller claiming its original to then find out its nowhere near the original quality. I even paid a lot for a screen for my phone Xperia Z2 like 2 years ago with the seller stating its original but its not the touch chip is other and it locks from time to time:whip:...

Switch turned on to charging screen after Nintendo logo. Showing full charge yet wont go into Horizon OS. Maybe due to incorrect battery readings. Ill have to charge it more and see.

Tried with trinket soldered autorcm on and off and nothing

Unsoldered trinket and went back to stock with no rcm and nothing

Plugged battery into ipatched unit thats never been opened and after an hour or so went to nintendo logo straight to charging screen that is black. Battery showing full but wont get passed black screen. Powering on and off same thing. So far 3 hours or so charging.

Really sucks cause autorcm with method 1 is causing all sort of battery issues when you let them die. Is there a work around for this?

What I do, is send a payload. Hekate / sxos...
Don't let it a auto boot. Keep it on Hekate menu or sxos menu. Leave on there for half hour. Done.

I've let loads of them actually run until they are flat. Let it charge on payload screen.

This battery will not boot with trinket installed so I cant do what your suggesting. It will boot on ipatched stock unit passed nin logo then stuck on black screen with a full charge icon. So I cant get into hekate with this battery. Switch that has trinket installed works fine with good battery. Gonna chalk it up as bad battery.

Quick Note: Screen turns on and off at black screen endlessly

Ok. Just out of interest, which point have you soldered to for power?

Okay got hekate to boot with bad battery and I couldnt get that far before. Only works from comp as of now. Hekate showing battery @102% and says full.

Tried both power points, the newest one on the IC and the Nand module point as well. Both points cause this issue as I've had many customers letting me know.

strange... With battery showing that, my first guess would be battery fubar.

However, lets look deeper.

Not running FW6.0 are you and your customers?

Currently happening on both 5.1 and 6.0. Seems likes it more common on 6.0 though.

Gonna let it sit on payload screen. I have it plugged in through comp and I hope it charges it this way as Ive never tried. If I unplug it to plug in wall charger unit turns off.

On 5.1 I`ve never had an issue.

6.0... Could be sleep mode issue? I want to get to the bottom of this

This all started on 5.1 for me have done exactly 30 Switch mods as I count my Trinket USB C Connectors lol.

Haven't encountered the sleep bug yet and have been using Hekate on all 6.0 mods. Unless this is related. Will have to keep testing.

I really want to figure this out as it sucks to have customers mad and think my installs are causing issues.

Also, thank you for the suggestions.

Maybe an off board charging station for this very issue, I dunno.

Its as though people are powering off their switches and they are going into RCM and draining, or unplugging memory card before the shutdown sequence has completed. That could do it too.

If people wait 12 seconds after shutdown before unplugging / replugging anything or restarting, should not do this.

I have def noticed this since the beginning on all CFWs. Was thinking of an off board battery charger.

You shouldn`t need one.

I`ll do some testing throughout the day and see what we can come up with.

If completely flat, I do the following steps...

1) Keep unplugged
2) Regardless of current state of console, hold down power for around 15 seconds to force power off
3) Press power on... If it boots, don`t attempt to let the console boot, let it sit on Hekate menu or SXOS options menu for half hour.
4) If it doesn`t boot, don`t touch the power button or anything...
5) Press modchip reset switch. Flex back cover / however you do it. If it flashes, it is in RCM. If no flash, it is not in RCM.
5a) If it is in RCM, you can hold power button for 15 seconds again... Back to step 5.
5b) If not in RCM, hold down power off (pointless as switch is probably flat), but do it anyway for 15 seconds yet again...
6) WITHOUT PRESSING ANY BUTTONS - Plug console into dock or switch power supply and just LEAVE IT for half hour.

Try that next time you get a flat one.

If you have a bench power supply you can usually revive the battery, it probably dropped below 3.1v meaning the charge circuit cant charge it. Boost the voltage with 5.2v @ 2amps for 5 mins then whack it on charge.

Hers an samsung battery as example, low voltage

Bench psu for a couple of mins.

Now charges at 1.8amps on its own.
