My Wii U got bricked this morning :(
I was in the middle of installing Mario Kart 8 with WUP Installer GX2. It crashed at 5 percent, so i tried again. I pressed the home button out of boredom while waiting, and it crashed again. Then when i turned the wii u on again, it said "No Signal" on my TV and after I tried to launch a game from the start menu, this message appeared on the GamePad: "Could not connect to the Wii U console. Please move the Wii U GamePad closer to the console. Then turn the controller's power off and on again." Please help!

Is there a high risk of brick when installing to NAND? Thanks god I always installed to external hdd.

By default, never install anything on NAND. If something goes wrong or some data corrupts the chances of bricking the console are extremely high

Lots of misinformation in this thread, you can’t brick your Wii U by part installing to NAND wtf are you morons on about! Yes eventually the nand will fail like any solid state memory but a game has no effect on the system software unless it’s a DS title with haxchi installed.

You aren’t bricked if you can get to the home menu. Bricked means the Wii u won’t even get that far!

Delete the partially installed mario kart 8 data and you should be fine!

But it IS bricked. When I try to go to the system menu it tells me to put the gamepad closer to the console and turn it off and on again, so I can't delete the partially installed MK8 Data. And trust me, I have no idea how and why my wii u bricked in such a stupid way.
PS: I've already given up on saving it and have formatted my SD card and started using it for modding my old Wii

Silly question, but have you tried re syncing your GamePad to the WiiU console?

Yeah, I have, but it lets me go to where you can sync it on the gamepad, but I think the brick wrecked the HDMI connection somehow, because it tells me to enter a code on my TV but I can't because it says No Signal.

As far as decoration, the original WiiU box is better for that. I've my NES box up on one of my shelves for decoration along with other Nintendo stuff and a PS One console with figurines on a TV stand behind a glass door.

Anyway, on the bright side. WiiU's are cheap nowadays if you want to get one otherwise a Switch considering it's hackable.
