EA delays 'Battlefield V' release

Revealed a few months ago, the next installment in the Battlefield franchise was slated for an October 19th release. However, in a news update today, EA announced that the title will be pushed back for a few weeks. Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager of DICE, wrote that the reason behind the delay is because "we’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of Tides of War."

"We believe we have one of the best Battlefield games ever on our hands. A game that will deliver on an emotional journey through the return of unseen single player War Stories, a deep multiplayer experience, Battle Royale, along with our new live service, Tides of War - a journey across multiple theaters of WW2 and designed to keep our community together," adds Gabrielson.

Battlefield V's release has been pushed back to November 20, 2018 and will land on PS4, Xbox One, and PCs.

Correction: "We're going to take the time to fill the game to the brim with lootboxes because we want your hard earned money."

In the absence of anything concrete I shall choose to pick up on "We believe we have one of the best". Not the best, one of the best. Bit of a lack of confidence there.

Mind you "A game that will deliver on an emotional journey"... for a multiplayer shooting game designed to be replayed endlessly?

Also "and designed to keep our community together". The game does make the community and they have had some interesting ideas for a long time now (some of the stuff I saw with challenges and tailored setups) but have yet to truly capitalise upon them from what I have seen of them. If they try something interesting there it might not make for a fun game for me to play but I will certainly be there to ponder it. Though I suppose I should allow the cynic to take over again and join the "it'll be lootboxes" chorus.

That is a bit strong. Plenty of people like battlefield 3, and I really like what battlefield 4 became in the end -- while there are plenty of things I would change taken as is with all the DLC I find it quite enjoyable. The more recent efforts... meh or perhaps they just failed to outshine 4.

Recent news have not been good, the game was already destined to flop by the huge negative reactions by people to the games trailer and the whole sjw agenda being put into the game.

For all we know, players could have lost faith in EA after Battlefront 2 debacle. I don't think that many people actually care about this women in videogames non-sense. Anti-sjw are as much of a meme pushing an agenda as sjws themselves.

Imo, no more money towards EA. EVER AGAIN.
They release half a game and expect us to except it as is. BattleFront 2 was a disaster and a flop. Everyone I know sold it or deleted it and wished they had not bought it. BF1 sucker super hard for me and I hated it so much...
I hope the game flops.

The CoD series has already reached a saturation point where gamers simply don't care anymore about another rehash of the same game

I only get treyarch games now lol. Everything else is not something that ever catches my eye. EA is shoveling a heap of garbage into their games. and I agree, cod is just not fun anymore. The only thing I look forward too is the zombies game mode from treyarch.

I used to enjoy playing Treyarch cods. After buying BO3 I was so disappointed because I could only play team deathmatch because not many bought the game on pc and those who did, took the shitty $15 Multiplayer-only pass so they only got certain features. I hate the rest that have come out afterwards: AW, IW, WWII. I just sit around like a vulture on steam for the first two BO games and MW3 but every time they go on special they go from $60 to $30 like wtf.

"If you don't like the delay, don't buy the game!" - Some genius PR at EA.
I think that was the director of the game, who ended up quitting after working there a bunch of years. Also, only uneducated people bitch about our game, if you don't like our game, don't buy it! Hey, wait, why aren't you pre ordering our game?! FUCK!

Maybe I'll buy the game when it's in a bargain bin for 10 bux. Then I can finally live my dream as a disabled, one armed black female Nazi field marshal, who will defend the fatherland in the name of Adolf Hitler!
