If you’ve been playing on PC for the last couple of years, you might be aware of how Electronic Arts’ games are exclusive to their launcher, Origin. That will no longer be the case anymore, as EA and Valve are teaming up to see the former’s game titles return to Steam. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be the first EA game to kick off the partnership, with a scheduled Steam release of November 15th. More games are slated to follow, with The Sims 4 and Unravel 2 launching soon on the platform as well. FIFA 20, Battlefield V, and Apex Legends will also follow, in 2020. Games with online features will offer crossplay, allowing Origin and Steam users to play together.

That’s not all, though, as even EA’s subscription service, EA Access will be launching on Steam this spring, giving players access to a library of EA titles for a monthly fee. Gabe Newell stated that, “this is a good day for gamers. We’re excited to partner with EA to bring their great games and subscription service to Steam, but also open up our communities to each other in an unprecedented way that will benefit players around the world”.

The standard edition of Star Wars Jedi is so frigging expensive here on Steam.
    Typical EA.

Older Ubisoft games do the exact same, tbf. Still more convenient to have them on Steam.

If it means I can play apex on steam and get the battle-pass using my TF2 items, I'll take it.

So does this mean that Origin is a failure, or that Valve capitulated and gave EA 90-95% of the revenue?

I'll take it. The less stuff I have to get on a different launcher the better lol.

Hopefully I can transfer all my EA game licenses to Steam, and delete Origin from my PC forever!

Still require Origin to launch the games. Example: Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. The game still requires an external/3rd Party DRM, aka Origin, to run.

Huh. Pulling a UPlay, it seems, but I may need to just snag a new Origin account because last I checked, there was a hacker assault on Origin several years back, and I fear that my account was hacked. Haven't bothered assuring full control over my account ever since since I only got Origin for one game. However, there is one other game I want that's 100% exclusive to Origin, but I do hope they release said game on Steam as well.

Star Wars costs the equivalent of $77 for us Britchads. That's a huge NOPE from me and I hope others too. It's unacceptable

What a bummer. Of course their partnership doesn't convenience gamers. They just worked out new ways to make themselves more money.
