I have a major problem, not sure if it can be helped or if this is in the right section. I have a OLD 3DS, and i've installed a cfw in it (luma, arm9,etc).
It was fine, i could play normally with the sound working, but one day when i was going to play something, i realized that the 3DS sound hasn't working, and the speakers are fine, the camera app still makes a clicking noise when taking a picture or beeps when taking videos, and i still can't hear anything even with headphones.. I've tried open DSP dump to see if works, but no success.. If someone had this problem and still know how to solve it, please help! =(

Multiple postings at:
Are you using arm9loaderhax? You followed YouTube tutorials, didn't you?
Yes, i'm using and i did, and the sound has disappeared suddenly, i've checked the volume slider and it's ok too, i think the cfw did something to the sound.. do you think is there a way to fix it? like, restoring the cfw or uninstalling it to see if the sound comes back? i'm suffering with this issue since April's 2017..

Did you try updating your arm9loaderhax to boot9strap? See if that doing that will fix it.

If that doesn't work, go with this:

As long as you follow that guide in updating to B9S, you shouldn't have any problems even if you're on firmware 11.7.0-40U. Your 3DS is already hacked and won't lose the CFW when transferring to the newer hax. If sound doesn't work after getting boot9strap, you still need it in order to try CTRtransfer.

Sorry, I don't use Discordapp except to lurk.

Ok, i'm going to change the hax.
So, is it normal to happen in a hacked 3DS?
If the sounds come back, i'll be very happy, and if not, i won't know what to do anymore..

Well, i've updated the A9LH to Boot9strap succesfully but the sound still doesn't work..

Use this app called 3DSident-GUI v0.7.9 and go under the Hardware Information. Check if the Volume slider state goes all the way from 0 to 100%. This is truly rule out hardware issue.
if the slider passes this test, your only other options are:
(1) SysNAND restore if you ever made a NAND image before the sound problem happened.
(2) CTRtransfer.
(3) Use 3DNUS to download all the firmware *.cia files for the Old 3DS 11.7.0-40U, install only the 0004003000008F02.cia for the HOME Menu applet with FBI, and with GodMode9 encrypt the *.app found at SYSNAND CTRNAND 1:/00040030/00008f02/content/00000089.app

Edit - You should make a SysNAND backup before you do anything else in case something happens.

Backup the dspfirm.cdc. Remove it from the sd card and try to run dspdump again. perhaps it may be faulty or have some issue with it. If it doesnt make a new dspfirm.cdc or doesnt work, you can always put the one you have now back on there.

I'm not too clear what your issue is. Do you have background music at HOME Menu? Does sound works for official 3DS games?

Dumping the dspfirm.cdc won't fix the underlying issue if sound is broken for things that are not homebrew stuff.

Nope, everything it's soundless, only the 3DS camera has sound (because of that japanese security against pervs, etc) i was wondering if i could do something to modify it to make the 3DS sound comes out into this security speaker, like, i won't be able to increase the volume, but at least i'll be able to listen the 3DS sound (i don't know how, but probably it's a hardware mod, and idk how to do it lol)

The 3DS camera sound probably comes from csnd instead of dsp.
Try opening the browser and see if it has sound effects. (This will confirm a problem with the dsp service).

Edit: actually, csnd uses the dsp service so nevermind e.e

In any case, try doing a CTRTransfer.
