Hacking Homebrew Get rid of the annoying Shutter Sound with "Shut The Cam Up"!

Yea, i would need to make an another patch just for this lol. Cause the attention sounds are in the 3ds camera app itself. More specifically - the romFS.
And the shutter sound + video recording sound are in some system process.

I would consider that a feature, personally. You deliberately enabled a ready sound in this case.

Since the sounds are embedded in code.bin i could try swapping them out. But tbh i dont know if that would work

you would need to mess around with the hex editor and transplant the audio bytes manually and at the right length.

Hey sorry to bother where do I find the place to put the .ips file? (I'm totally new to patching forgive me)
This is all I see in on my laptop (I'm using a old 3DS and luma v13.0.2)

I initally made a file called "titles" in the luma folder and made another folder called 0004013000001602 and put the .ips file there (renamed to the code 0004013000001602)

But it didn't work

Oh wow it works (Sorry I put titles instead of sysmodules cause I was reading the README file in the source and got confused thats on me)

Fwiw, files that are placed in sd:/luma/titles are patch/ mod files for games. the number "0004013000001602" is the titleid of the game, so if you ever wanted to delete these mods, you look up that titleid on the internet (useful if you have more than 1 3ds game modded) to figure out what it is.

I followed the instructions, but I still have a shutter sound. Just to be sure, I even tried both sets (as if I had the lower Luma version and the higher one). I have an N3DS, for context. No idea what I've done wrong :/

I don't know what to tell you. After the initial release, I worked with the OP to fix up the instructions and then everything worked fine. Maybe DM him on discord?

Oh thank god someone else thought of this! SO many dsiware games like rayman and soul of darkness have annoying gimmicks where the camera forcibly activates on you and now i can finally play those games without a headache lmfao.

if you hex-edit shutter_sound.wav inside the Nintendo DSi Camera.nds file or any .nds file that has the shutter sound at a certain offset with godmode9, it shouldn't make that sound anymore.

Trying to do this but unsurprisingly, for the 3rd time this month, none of my folder numbers match up.
My luma > titles folder doesn't have a single folder with a 0004013000001602 folder, or even a folder that starts with 000401.
European/Australian New 3DS XL.
Weirdly enough, my folder numbers not being remotely the same is a reoccurring issue when modding. Is it because mine's not an American region console?
Here's an attached screenshot if it helps anything.
