Hi there!
I am a game designer and I wanted to hear from the GBAtemp.net community which are videogames greatest female characters!
Just curiosity from my part. Leave a comment down below with Character Name and Game. Please don't troll.
Thank you!

Not sure what you looking for. Strong protagonist type, comic relief, damsel in distress? I mean honestly there is lots of women in video games, picking our favorites could take long time. Maybe if we had some direction for what to list it would help keep things short and simple.

Just to start I can say Pyra/Mythra in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for me.

Same as any character really. Describe their outlook on the world, maybe have their outlook work for their physical nature, have them act in accordance with all that, maybe learn something, have some kind of conflict, even better a conflict that is particularly jarring given said world view, or otherwise develop along the way.

Trouble for me is most game stories and characters within are so poorly written and characterised compared to a lot of other media that things barely reach serviceable level, never mind good. To that end I barely have anything worthwhile for any character, male, female, robot, sentient goo, alien...
Certainly there are characters in games that make me wonder if the writer has ever met a woman, but there are also characters that make me wonder if the writer has not learned language by reading but was otherwise locked in a room all their life.

Well obviously Samus, smh.
Have you suppressed the memory of other m?

Hi there!
I am a game designer and I wanted to hear from the GBAtemp.com community
Then you're on the wrong site...

;)
My favorites are:
Heather Mason - Silent Hill 3
Alexandra Roivas - Eternal Darkness
Selphie Tilmitt - Final Fantasy 8
Quistis Trepe - Final Fantasy 8

hmm, having a hard time thinking of more at the moment. I know there's a lot more, but it escapes me.

Every character with the a variant of the name "May."
In most games that I've played with a "May," "Mei," "Mae," etc. they are always the best character in the game.

The best character in a game is a boy.
In all honesty, I dislike the buffed male characters in games, if I don't like a male character, I pick a female one and if I have the option to create one.
It'll be a skinny stick like meself.

Best female character in a game... I guess Elizabeth (BS Infinite)
She's actually helpful.

Hi there!
Again thank you for your response I am really looking to see what type of female character you guys enjoy in games. I am looking for opinion on how much you enjoy these characters in the game and characters that add more to the game, not just someone's love interest or eye candy/fan service.

Thank you for responding! I know that, as someone in the industry, I should not like this haven hackers modders, but I ask those who love games and this place is full of them.

Actually while I still have my misgivings about game characters I will say the lady from prince of persia sands of time did well enough.

Peach from Nintendo. She makes the best cakes in all of gaming, is a great character in the Paper Mario- and Mario & Luigi-Series and despite beeing such a "classic female" character in Super Princess Peach she manages to be a hero but on her very own way and not just a "female Mario" and that even on a creative female way (if the game just would have been better...). Also despite beeing good at beeing a princess and a damsel in distress she knows how to have fun with all kinds of sports and board games/partys. A multifarious character.

Alyx Vance from Half Life 2, she didn't felt an objectified female character to me, funny, courageous and charming!

Ellie from Last of Us is a pretty cool female character too.

I would say :

Johanna DARK from Perfect Dark
Lara Croft in the last reboot serie
Alexandra Roivas from Eternal Darkness (like Issac above).
