Amazon Mexico have supposedly leaked the box art and release date for the recently rumoured Spyro trilogy remaster according to Twitter user @MykonosFan

The collection will be called the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and will include remasters of the original PlayStation games by Toys For Bob - known for their work on the Skylanders series and most recently a port of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to the Nintendo Switch.

The remastered games will include:

• Spyro the Dragon
• Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!
• Spyro: Year of the Dragon

If the Amazon listing can be trusted, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set to release on September 21st for $40 USD.

An official announcement of the game is expected to be announced at PAX which is opening today for 3 days.

You're right, but since we talk about PS4, sure will Spyro will be ruined like happened to Crash.
It seems that all remakes/remastered will messed up on ps4, ruining the legendary names of PS1...
Well, i think because software house now care only about money instead to do a great products like they did on ps1 and ps2.

I love this stuff but my problem is how much longer some ports take to arrive on the Switch. I’ve never played Crash and would prefer to on Switch but it’s still far off.

That's an exclusivity issue. Not a "Switch" issue.

Its the perfect game for the switch really like we have mario odyssey crash and spyro likey 2019 We should wait but yeah gonna be stuck with the old versions untill they put it on the switch.

My favorite part of my friendly Nintendo experience was when playing Shin Megami Tensei 4; being told to fuck off by a demon and reminded by an underground NPC that if I should die, that I should die close to the entrance so looting my corpse is easier.

Meh, i still prefer PS1 version of these classics! PS4 is so useless that require remastered and remakes from the unbeatable PS1?
PS1 Spyro and Crash had more colorful (great and right for Spyro/Crash toon style) while remastered for ps4 have stupid annoying dark tones because ps4 games looks like games for emos; im really tired of that ugly, emo-dark, saturated graphic full of useless visual effects - its ruin every games style (like the no-sense movies now: just a collection of visual effects and nothing more)

And YES, get the ORIGINAL ones!! Do not support these byproduct that aim to destroy the legend behind some titles!

There really is no reason for you to even be disappointed or upset in the first place. Does this remastering mean you're no longer able to play the games on the PS1? How do these games actually personally affect you to the point you have to tell others not to buy them?

Well you have to buy the old discs and they are probably all scratched since the only PlayStation i have is a ps2.

Just pirate the old one for now the developers of the original version are gone so i think its ok to pirate it.

You can take them to a disc repair, or you could emulate the old games, or there are some websites to play them right in your browser, or Sony has them to buy on the PSOne Classics section, or you can buy non-scratched ones from a pawn shop/eBay.
