you didn't downgrade to 2.1, and you don't have an emunand, so don't do CTRTransfer/Move EmuNAND. do update like it tells you.

Wassup people, I have a "new" 3DS and my friend gave me a flashcart. Can I use this on the latest 3DS/2DS etc version, can I run 3DS roms on it and is there a guide for newbies or beginners on how to install things on it to work? The flash cart is a R4i 3DS Gold without the RTS.

Many thx pal, I thought that , was just unsure about the updating bit as i heard the new update stops me from continuing finishing installing the rest of the files. also is it possible to skip the update (just curious incase i want to use my sky3ds card again) appreciate the help btw!!

The flashcart can be used to play old ds games
For 3ds games:
What is your firmware version. If it's 11.3 or lower you can follow https://3ds.guide
If it's 11.4 or higher it depends on what url is written on the card

You can skip the update but there's no reason to. Sky3ds can be still used after update.

@Uumas for some reason I cannot reply to your comment so I guess I'll have to tag you, the site is r4ids.cn btw.
You can use it to install CFW. See https://3ds.guide/ntrboot

If you're on 11.3 or less there's other ways that don't involve the flashcart but to be honest using the flashcart is easier than all of those ways I think (just that some people might not already own one).

So if I have already updated to 11.6.0 prior to even reading about luma, there is no way I can install cfw without another 3ds? I don't fell like buying another 3ds so I will probably just wait and see. Is it possible that 11.6 will be soon hackable?

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
