Hacking How to install Haxchi on a 5.5.1 FW Wii U with no exploitable DS game?

Is there a detailed, step-by-step guide about how to install Haxchi on a 5.5.1 FW Wii U?

I know I need to buy an exploitable DS game from the eshop, and the only way to do that without updating to 5.5.2 is via NNU Patcher...

But I'm not familiar with NNU Patcher at all. The 5.5.1 FW Wii U I'd like to install Haxchi on is currently 100% unhacked.

You don't hack the wii u in ways that you think. The system always remains stock regardless. All you do is launch an exploit then launch homebrew apps from the SD card. So your Wii U now, is the same as it will ever be.


The first thing you want to do asap is setup a DNS from wiiu.guide . In fact you may want to follow that guide entirely as it will also walk you through installing Haxchi and using NNU Patcher. It's the official wii u hacking guide, you're kinda lost unless you at least follow that guide one time.

If you're on 5.5.2 and you don't have haxchi installed while on 5.5.1, you cannot hack your Wii U at all. So following the guide wouldn't get you anywhere sadly

If you're on 5.5.1 atm first thing you should do i block the update by setting the DNS to not auto obtain and set dns to

• 168.235.092.108
• 081.004.127.020

OP mentioned nnu patcher so he probably did so already but better safe than sorry.

Edit: I see now that matt already mentioned it. And yes just follow that wii u guide. If you're on 5.5.1 it should work perfectly.

You don't need to be familiar with the nnu patcher, all you need to do I run it through the homebrew launcher. Once done you can go to the eshop and buy the required game.
Also from what I've read you can't install haxchi without one of the games.

They haven't updated the guide yet, and it has been days. Within minutes of the release of the new firmware, the first thing Kafluke did with his Noob Guide, is update it to warn people about the new firmware.

That guide your talking about is a joke.

Edit: @TheTechGenius What? Wii U guide does not have you update, they already noted that 5.5.2 is non hackable and the first thing they have you do is set DNS.
