Hi

I want to address the pstv problems. Can someone install this vpk and tell me if loading a game fails? It it fails share the coredump created in ux0:/data

https://www.dropbox.com/s/j5l3ric34kyvgc0/handy_libretro.vpk?dl=0 <---- Handy libretro (Atari lynx)

Thanks
I run the emulator on psv and pstv, the difference is:
1.No "Load core" on PSTV
2.No crash when enter "Load Content" in PSTV, which is common in offical release, but no rom can be found.

Screenshot on PSTV:
No "Load Core"

Roms can not be found

Screenshot on PSV:

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Am I sure I was playing it on my TV rather than a small portable? Yep, pretty damn sure :)

Why do you ask?
Because I can't load rom on pstv, but it does on PSV.
Look at my post below.

Can you try latest nightly?
I just downloaded 0427 nightly build and tested handy_libretro, still no "Load Core", no crash and no rom can be found.(I have never run the emulator before, so I don't known if it crash before when enter "Load Content")
I also tested fceumm_libretro(0427), still crash when enter "Load Content"
fc1.jpg
coredump file for fceumm_libretro(maybe useless, because it is not a debug build)

PSTV support and sound may be already fixed in nightly from 28. Just test and tell me. Thanks
I have same problem with 0428 nightly: no rom in handy_libretro and crash in fceumm_librerto.
But I try to build 0428 source by myself, handy_libretro and fceumm_librerto works fine.
The command I used to compile is Make -f Makefile.vita, not make -f Makefile.vita.salamander,make -f Makefile.griffin platform=vita(the build by this way will crash when enter "Load Content" as offical download), I don't know the difference between them.
Because I connect PSTV to PC monitor, there is no sound test yet, I will test it when go back to home.

I'll give it a test after work and update. Thanks for all your work frangarcj :)

EDIT:
The latest nightly is only about 40MB, previous builds are about 250MB. There is no eboot.bin in the handy_libretro.vpk and vitashell gives error 0x80af5022 when trying to install it. I'm guessing some kind of problem with the build server.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
