Hey just started this game. I feel like my Nohr adopted siblings actually care for me, but the king is a grade A asshole! If they give the option to fight for Nohr I'm not sure if I can ever take it because he is a war criminal!

I also started playing it last week and I would choose Nohr because of the siblings and the setting.
They say that fighting for Hoshido fits new users better, though; and my having only played The Sacred Stones...

Difference in difficulty:
Hoshido: not hard and can grind XP
Norh: harder and cannot grind XP, which means if you mess up with the XP distribution or team building you can be stuck on chapter you can't béat.

A month later, Birthright bored me to death by chapter 10-11 and I stopped playing it. Controlling over twenty, boring characters is more cumbersome than entertaining, and the overall challenge (on Normal difficulty) made me feel over-levelled the whole time. I even chose to balance the levels of all characters (Corrin is at level 11, and all others are 9-11), to increase the challenge.

Last weekend, I decided to give Conquest a try and I am enjoying it so far (I am at the port battle of chapter 11.) I always preferred the Nohr family over the Hoshido one, but was scared of Conquest's difficulty (having only played Fire Emblem casually on GBA.)

The storyline and my current recruitments are far more appealing and funnier (like Odin, Nyx and Arthur, or even Selena and Beruka.) Moreover, Effie herself is more useful than the twenty other characters that I had recruited in Birthright by chapter 11.

Even though I have not lost a battle, yet, Conquest made me think way more than Birthright, and I have repeated battles just for fun, to improve my tactic.
Granted, Conquest may make me cry later on, but the experience so far has been more enjoyable that the one I had with Birthright.
