Could be mine for all I know but whose fault it is is irrelevant (I suppose). Can I prevent it somehow ?
When I boot the console (not touching anything) it goes to Sys 4.4.0. i installed this from 3ds.guide. What is this called?
If I press Start when starting the console, it launches GodMode9
If I press Select when booting the console it launches Luma 6.6
If I press Dpad down it launches Gateway (GW3D 4.4.0) and I (well the kids) can play games from the red gateway card. My kids want to keep this as they swap their games from time to time.

You seem to have A9LH. Old 3ds i presume. Are the games installed on sysnand as well? If so, are they gifts on sysnand as well? Personally I would just flash your emunand to your sysnand if you do have A9LH. This most likely would fix the issue. Just dont use the Gateway and update the system.... 11.3/4 will result in you losing A9LH.
Yes Old 3DS XL. I don't believe they have installed games to Sysnand (or maybe a few). I don't even know how to boot into Sysnand now. As I said it's either A9HL (thanks) or Gateway.

Gateway will not work on 11.3/11.4... You will lose A9LH! No more CFW!
The black Icons I believe are things that are installed to nand that should not be... I had those a long time ago.
To remove the black icons, I used devmenu and looked for ids that were games but were installed to nand instead of sd card and even triple checked the ids before deleting them. Before doing this it would be a good idea to back everything up to try to remove these.
The games can just be installed to each system tbh. Unless its a space issue. You could flash the emunand to the sysnand, but again, updating to 11.3 and using gateway WILL result in loss of cfw... Make sure not to flash a emunand from one console to another either! BRICK BRICK BRICK!
You could manually update to 11.2 for them on sysnand with A9LH and use Gateway. I dont have 11.2 on hand and I dont have a guide! Maybe someone here can help further with that..
Don't use menuhax v3 (which blocks home extdata modification) or at least reinstall it after opening gifts

How do you boot into Sysnand? All I know is booting into A9hl (Sys4.4.0) or Gateway (GW3D 4.4.0).
Just to make sure noone boots up Sysnand.
A9LH is not a CFW, depending on which CFW you actually use you can configure it to boot sysnand or emunand
In Gateway's CFW you can boot sysnand by holding a button I don't remember while you select "boot gateway mode" in the launcher (or of course if you don't have an emunand)

Im awful at it. But id say look at 3ds.guide again to see if that looks familiar. Do you have a arm9loaderhax.bin on the 3ds's sd cards?Maybe I should avoid trying to help

Deep into the 3ds.guide there's a small guide to use CTRTransfer to 9.2, follow that to update your SysNAND to 9.2
Backup your EmuNAND and SysNAND to a PC
Update Luma3DS to the latest nightly(search it in Google and put that arm9loaderhax.bin in your SD card)
Once you do this, update your EmuNAND to the latest version.
Now you should have a EmuNAND on the latest and a SysNAND on 9.2 (for Gateway)
You can download an 11.2 update pack but I would personally go against it.
If anyone wants to adjust this to make it better, go ahead

Yep, that one.
Make sure to have a backup of the NAND itself(and do it in a 3DS that you can replace easily), if something goes wrong you can do a hardmod and flash it back
Then just do the stuff I told you above

following the thread to install 9.2 (https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer) I'm having issues reinstalling tickets.
I'm in FBI, went to the eshop folder, selected current directory and I do not have Install & delete all tickets.
All I have there is Copy All contents, Delete all contents, New folder, Delete, Rename, Copy and finally Paste.
Sames goes with the unknown folder.
What should I do now ?

Or, I also heard that if you use flash memory, it can act as more "RAM" at least windows tell me when I stick a flash drive into it. -
