Nearly a year ago, Nintendo put out a blog post, mentioning that the DSi shop would be closing early in 2017. Though you can no longer add points to an account, you can still download previously purchased items on your DSi, or buy titles if you have remaining funds, that is, until March 31, 2017. Nintendo claims that "most" DSiware will be available to download unhindered on the 3DS's e-Shop, but in the case of the DSi, you will no longer be allowed to re-download DSiware, even if you purchased it. This is a reminder for those that still use a DSi to grab their purchases before it's too late and make peace with the service being ended.

Most of the nice DSi store titles are on the 3DS eshop anyway.

Unless they refund your money, not allowing you to re-download forever = theft.

You sign an agreement when you first use the service that lets them cancel the service at any time.

Its not theft, they cant keep servers up for ever (cost problems) and there arent many who purchase things there now... if your bank closes then you get no opportunity to get money back and its not really theft...

The cost of keeping the games redownloadable is negligible if it's hosted on the same CDN as 3DS/Switch eShop. Maintaining the payment systems can be costly on the other hand

I had DSI's never went online or went on the DSI Shop.
I think I still have my broken Yellow DSI around here might go online with it to say I did.

That was the original Xbox. Any purchases or DLC bought for the Xbox can't be redownloaded.

You could still add points with a credit card if you're in the US and set your country to Peru as of a week ago, i spent like $40 and loaded up my dsi before they pulled the real plug.

Yes, but some people prefer having it on their DSi, DS, or what not.

Its not the same to some people unuo (well to me at least)
