Hey guys,

Apologies if this has been asked and answered, I couldn't find this specific question with search.

I've been playing the EU version of Breath of the Wild on my NA console since it leaked, however tomorrow I will be buying the physical NA game. I'd love to transfer my existing save to the non-pirated NA version - is this possible? What is the process?

Thanks a lot!

thanks for the reply, i've got it installed as well (on a USB drive). Are there any differences in regional save files? Here's what I presume the process would be:
  1. Extract current save with Saviine
  2. Turn off USB on which the game is currently installed
  3. Pop in the actual game disc, start it, create one save game
  4. Use Saviine to import the save
Is that it? Anything that needs editing in the savegame meta?

Try what you said first, you have nothing to lose.

Success!!! I am so thrilled about this!! I did have to add one step which was to rename the dumped folder, since it turns out the EUR and USA versions of the game have slightly different IDs. Here's what I did:
  1. Extract current save with Saviine - in the dump folder, rename the folder from 00050000-101C9400 to 00050000-101C9500. Then copy this folder to the inject folder.
  2. Delete current installation.
  3. Pop in the actual game disc, start it, create one save game and then quit.
  4. Use Saviine to inject the save.
I tested this first by not deleting the old installation but turning off that USB drive and popping in a spare on which I installed the game from disc and tested the injection. I highly recommend you do this because once you delete your old installation, that save is gone and you better have done the dump properly!

Can you say what exactly the saviine extracted from your EUR game?
Because I played on Loadiine and there is a save folder.

It contains that sub-folders:

0
1
2
3
4
5
album
pict_book
tracker
option.sav (that is a archive)

Can you compare your EUR save with mine, if its equal?

I can't choose options when I try to choose any sot of options on the injection request screen. Everything is grayed out. What causes this?

I got it working, and I want to add two things.

One, you posted the rename folder thing backwards. After the dump the folder should read 00050000-101C9500. Change it FROM that TO: 00050000-101C9400.

Secondly, you mention putting in a new USB to install the save data and update data for your physical copy, so it isn't on the same USB as your EU copy. That isn't necessary. I did it with the same USB. System settings data management will show two "Breath of the Wild"s. Obviously the 11gb one is the EU eshop one, and the 2 GB one is just the save and update data for the physical copy. So you can do the save transfer all on one USB, and delete the eshop copy after you have confirmed it worked correctly.
