Quick question regarding your (upcoming) forwarders:
Will you implement the ability to display a custom image on the lower screen in all of them? In other words: Is this function independent of the emulator used?

does this work with sonic rom hacks too? like sonic 3 complete and sonic classic heroes

If it works with the standard Picodrive RetroArch CIA for 3DS then it will work with this. So I assume yes.

Yes I will. The function will not depend of the emulator/core.

If I say this is that some roms have World or JAP, EUR for example and in some cases there is a small difference in the game itself if have put the JAP version but obviously I do not know how to choose the version with Retroarch
Anyway thanks for what you do, it helps a lot

I think Picodrive core let's you to choose which region use. If that's true, then yes, I'll add that feature.

If there was a way to implement some kind of menu, you could even put several different ROMs together and install them as a collection. This way you would only have one icon to launch, and then select which game to play. Thinking this further, you might display a "game selection" graphic on the lower screen (just a 320x240 image with several game covers) and define image regions via a text file, defining where to tap to launch which ROM. But I'm afraid this goes a little too far :D

Many early Mega Drive releases contained both the Japanese and 'World' language settings within the same ROM, and would display either the Japanese or English version upon detecting to the region of the console - hence the option in emulators to switch between regions. Real MD hardware can flick between displaying regional versions within the game in real time if you install a physical language / region switch.

Oh, I see, didn't know that. Well, there goes my multi-ROM idea down the drain :D
The multi-ROM idea can be done, just by putting multiple roms in the RomFS and then showing them on the RetroArch menu, but the interface should be like when you're on RetroArch and you're loading your rom: showing the rom list on the top screen.

Technically that would still be good enough, I think. But it will of course depend on you willing to do that extra work and I think just getting forwarders for all the major platforms should have priority.

I'm planning to make a big update to this Injector. Then, I'll start porting this forwarding method to the others RetroArch cores.

So first you'll have to wait for the next version, which will include a better 3D banner, 6 button configuration, and another stuff...

I hope still that you could release version 1.1 of the Genesis that I had seen that I assume will be based on the core of retroarch 1.4.0
I take my trouble in patience hoping that you will find a little time to continue

What's new:
* A whole new full 3D model (by @FONZD. Thank you VERY much!).

+ Added: 6 button genesis/megadrive controller compatibility.
+ Added: button layout scheme save and load (export your current button layout scheme to a file and load it when you like to).
* Fixed game not resetting when using automatic save and load feature (reported by @angelhp and @bunny365).
* Fixed sound issue when suspending the game (reported by @bunny365).
* Fixed the black screen on the top and bottom screen when returning the game after suspending it
* Fixed the ampersands missing on the game name (reported by @bunny365).
+ Added option to disable bilinear filter (asked by @plainstone).
+ Added emulator region selection (asked by @alucard73).
+ Added: Automatic title screen and/or box cover download!
+ Added: Now you can write two separate lines in the banner text with custom font and size for each one.
+ Added: Native IPS patching. Now you can apply an IPS patch directly before making the CIA.

This is a big new update.

Now you can go to Home Menu and the game sound won't be corrupted.

You can also close the 3DS lid (go to sleep mode) when playing the game.


You can't close the lid WHEN staying on the Home Menu with the game suspended.

Edit: Fixed on v1.2!
