Gaming Nintendo Switch Launch Lineup is weak (No Mario Kart ? Classic Ninty fail)

It's "fine"? Oh come on, no way in hell is that launch lineup "fine."

It's everything the Switch shouldn't be and the Wii U was if you ask me , shitty not memorable titles and one good game.

Feels like it's gonna be Wii U all over again.

One reason why the games are being released in stages may be that Nintendo can't ramp up cart production to release more than a few games at launch.

My theory is, and I said it when I was at the switch even to the guys who were with me is that they are staggering out the releases of mk8, splatoon, mario etc because they literally have no other major titles in the works for 2017. And I mean not only by them but by third parties also. Either way you look at it 2017 will be a very thin year for the switch without much to look forward to. And with the exception of maybe a Zelda the titles that will be released are the same ones that failed to gain any interest from the mainstream for the wii u.

Spla2n looks worse than Splatoon 1.

Those are either games that are ancient or that everyone has played already (minecraft, skyrim) or games that do not have mass appeal and the ability to shift consoles to the mainstream. Also in one line you have pretty much named all the games that we will see coming in 2017 on the switch (as far as we know).

I totally agree, it's a shocking lineup besides BOTW (of course) but then I wouldn't be surprised if that was rushed through testing for launch - not saying it's going to be a buggy mess but I'd imagine it wasn't subject to quite the usual vigorous Nintendo playtesting. At least Nintendo games can receive patches nowdays... No more sending in your memory cards via snail mail to be patched

Considering the importance of a strong launch needed for the Switch - the fact that Mario isn't a launch title LET alone Mario Kart 8 - a slightly enhanced port of an already existing game is mind boggling!
