Homebrew I've successfully hacked my 3DS, but I have newbie questions regarding future updates.

Hi everyone. First time posting here, please excuse me if I'm not allowed to post these kinds of questions here. I tried going to the Ask! section but the Ask button isn't available to me.

So, I followed all the steps at https://3ds.guide/get-started and managed to hack my 11.2.0.35U old 3DS XL. The online services in games work just fine, nothing seems out of the ordinary when it comes to all that. Everything is working perfectly.

I'm very new to all of this and I know these questions might've been asked before but I can't seem to find any responses that fit my system/hack version (the latest).

My questions are:

• When a new update from Nintendo comes out, what should I do? Do I update from Luma3DS, and how do I know when it's safe to? Or what should I do when a new update comes out? I really really really don't know what I'd have to do, I don't understand what Luma3DS and the sorts are for.

• I've been downloading games from FreeShop and while they work just fine (online included), could I get banned eventually?

• If I happen to get banned, would there be a way to bypass that ban or once I'm banned my 3DS will pretty much not connect anymore or something?

• Other than the stuff included in the tutorial to hack my 3DS, what else should I be installing that can be of use (hacked system related)?

1: Updating is perfectly fine.
2: Nope, Nintendo literally cannot tell if you are downloading game illegitimately.
3: Yes, there are 3 methods. The preferable one requires a second A9LH'd 3DS but other methods don't.
4: NTR is available, although screen streaming will not work on your Old 3DS as it is New 3DS exclusive. Also NDS rom loading off the SD card is in development and can be used on some commercial roms right now. None of this is needed but is useful.

Yes you can genrally update from Luma, Yes theres ways to unban yourself f(no idea how long it'll last but it requires a Sacrifical 3DS) and nothing "Needed" outside FBI but teh guide gives you this.

You're not going to get banned unless you play a game online before it has been released.

Does anyone know where I can find PcHex++ (*not* pkhex) for Pokémon Sun and Moon? I can only find gen6 stuff on Google.

Pksm is what I use and I belive it is better you can scan or download the cia here

If you want pchex plus plus you can get it here but it seems that it is dead and you should use pksm that I linked above

actually they can if youre using an illegitimate header, but besides that its fine (its not as much a problem anymore though). ive seen people get banned for setting homebrew apps as their favorite so .cia homebrew is kinda eh.

indeed, as the friends list title actually caches server side for them. also youre hella banned if freeshop is your favorite xD

I think it was FTPD since I have a New 3DS. So much easier than taking off the back plate.

I only had 1 digital game in my 3DS and while I was ok with losing my data and all, I actually didn't. I lost NOTHING, really. Same FC, my saves/settings were untouched because of all the backup they walk you through in that tutorial.

I fucked up and got a new FC xD all 20 friends gone

I've followed the guide twice through already with an old 3DS as well as n3DS, but I did not have any data on either and the installation went just fine. Is the backup process included in the regular guide or do I have to take extra steps?
