Homebrew So I just finished downloading Arm9 on New 3DS, think I bricked.

Luma3DS won't start up, I need help figuring out if I bricked it or not. The 3DS won't give any sign of life, except for the power light. I installed the necessary files and have gone through the troubleshooting guide multiple times now.
Any help is appreciated.

You need to give more information. Were you on 2.1.0? Did you install A9LH? Was this installation successful? At what point did it stop turning on? You most likely don't have the Luma3DS arm9loaderhax.bin file on the root of your SD card.

Ok, 2.1.0, just finished installing arm9 through my browser, shutdown, and after that, nothing.
I can assure you the .bin is in my root.

What's the timestamp of the 'otp.bin' file in the /a9lh directory? Also, with regards to the power light, if you turn the system on with no SD card, does it immediately shut off?

EDIT: You should set Windows to show file extensions. You might have an incorrect "double extension" (e.g. .bin.bin) causing problems.

Did it stop working immediately after installing A9LH (i.e. the (re)boot directly afterwards), and did you use 3ds.guide?

Unfortunately that does sound like a brick. The question is, why did it brick? (The OTP timestamp indicates it was dumped by SafeA9LHInstaller; it doesn't have access to the RTC, so it just sets that as the default value.)

You should be able to restore the NAND backup with a hardmod.

EDIT: Would I be correct in assuming the power light stays on even if you start the system with the SD card removed?

Yup, it does. And I have no idea why it bricked... I'm assuming I followed the guide correctly

If you have an N3DS and put it into sleep mode while it was in 2.1.0, it's a guaranteed brick. If you did that, that would be the case. As stated a few posts back, you can STILL recover it with a hard mod. I've heard putting it into sleep mode during any NAND writing could also brick it.

Didn't put it to sleep once, I followed through until that part. Which is when Luma didn't work.

wait i think a see your problem you put the 3ds into sleep mode while shutting it off (tapping the button instead of holding it) i would assume which bricked it i might be wrong i am an idiot when it comes to this stuff but that seems like the most rational explanation to me
