Homebrew what is the percentage of bricking? (safeA9LHinstaller) + dgtool error

what is the percentage of bricking on the safeA9LHinstaller? I want to know and I got this error when trying to downgrade: opening dgtool/firm***_NEW.bin and */firm112_NEW.bin could not open sdmc files! press home to exit and its weird because It says new3ds 11.2 on the top left and I'm on 11.1 firmware...

yes I used waithax to downgrade it first before I exited out of ninjahax and booted up fieldrunners

Check with 3dstritent (or whatever it's called) that your native firm is right. If your using the guide it should tell you to do that

Make sure to check 3dsient.The percentage is like 0.01 if you follow the guide closely and dont do otpless method.

Is the otpless method an instant brick?? if its like 1-1000 chance of bricking, I'm willing to take the chance... if its less than the 1-1000, I'll do it manually...

If you're on 11.1 you should have ONLY these two files in the dgtool folder.
firm104_NEW.bin
firm111_NEW.bin

If you're using the plailect guide, you're not following directions.

I restarted the dsiware hax installer because I thought I needed to reinstall... is it safe to turn this off while its running???

As long as you're not reflashing your nand. With the firm downgrade to 10.7, it's safe to stop it (it's awfully fast though so thats hard to do).

How many times have you ran the downgrade, once? If once, then restart your system and downgrade the system firm with the correct files.

I was backing up my nand before downgrading and I got this error: sdmc write error0MBs offset: 36200000 aborting...

Backup your nand with fwtool from @zoogie.
Rename the nds inside the archive to boot.nds and start it with dsiwarehax. It takes up to 45 minutes. But when you brick, you can restore your nand with a hardmod.

it stopped at 8557 blocks and gave an error: Error writing to SD!

This sounds like a faulty sd card. I've never had a problem with the tool. And I've used it 5 times. Try another one

If its a large SD card (size, not storage space) be sure that the write protect lock is FULLY in the off position. If that doesn't work your SD card is probably bunk, get a new one. Do what the guide says. OTP-less installation was considered unsafe, but it has been removed from the guide. DO NOT do anything that is not on the guide. coughminipastacough

If you got that card from ebay, it's probably fake-sized. This will definitely cause errors with dgTool.
run https://www.heise.de/download/product/h2testw-50539 to check its 64 GB claim.
