I'm using a new 3ds xl with an updated emunand and (I think) updated luma, but the ingame update doesn't work and I was told an update cia wouldn't work either. What do I do?
If it helps, I'm using the physical version of the game.

Well I'm not telling people to get off RXTools because staying on it is their decision but to be fair Crystal The Glaceon gave them a fair warning.

Now, I'm all for people switching to Luma from RxTools, but I still wouldn't consider Nintendo breaking a CFW something to be happy about...
I am not happy about them breaking anything, I am just happy about being right.
Because majority of ppl will not update the game ...

but this majority will cry if pokemon m / s didn't work on RxTools ^^
The people on That ISO Site says otherwise.

I have luma 6.01 with homemenuhax cuz I dont like at all arm9, but Animal Crossing still doesnt work...I supose that I need to move to arm9 right?:(
ARM9 is not installed. A9LH/K9LH is.

Please don't call it ARM9. x.x

Anyway, no, Luma will work fine, but moving to ARM9LoaderHax is still recommended.

I don't play animal crossing....
But i switched from RxTools a long time ago.

And i am happy i did, now I have Luma3DS CFW with arm9loaderhax!

RxTools made me need to install a hardmod....

Moving from RXTools benefits us, staying with it is dangerous, eventually, nintendo will release an update that will destroy RXtools, and maybe even bypass RX emu and update SysNand.

:ha:I mean arm9lh but is a bit long
So, animal crossing update with luma and homemenuhax its suposed to work? I'm not in that case, my game doesnt work with the new update
Call it A9LH, ARM9 is definitely not A9LH. As for your issue... I'm not entirely sure.

All I'm getting from this thread is less helpful information and more "If you don't switch over by doing x or y you're just a fucking idiot :P"
That's a rather crude way to be put it, but honestly people need to start switching. They are clinging to an out of date and dead CFW for no reason whatsoever. It takes little to no time to switch and they will loose nothing in the process.
People are just staying behind for pretty much no reason.
Also, we've tried to be helpful, there have been countless threads trying to help people convert and more threads trying to convince them to convert to an updated CFW. And now that moment has come when we can say that we warned RXTools users. We warned them that this can and will happen, that Nintendo will find some way to break RXTools and now they are seeing first hand that we were right. This was just one game update, but I won't be shocked a new OFW update comes out with a NATIVE_FIRM requirement. Which would be easily fixed/avoided with new CFWs.
so is it cryptofix or what?
I don't think you can actually cryptofix DLC and even if you can, I am not finding anyone doing it on any iso sites.
Although a faster and better option is to ditch your old CFW and update to a new one.

Process is simple and you can keep your same emuNAND. It's worth it instead of clinging to out of date CFWs.

Well, I've been using rxTools since god knows how long because I was ignorant and decided to not fix what ain't broke.

So I hung onto it because it just worked fine for me... until the New Leaf update came out...

After updating New Leaf while using rxTools, you will find that the game freezes after restarting and it will no longer launch past the Nintendo 3DS screen. If you don't play New Leaf, I suppose this doesn't matter to you, but other games in the future like Pokemon Sun & Moon may very well produce the same issue once they're released. To fix it, I finally changed my CFW to Luma3DS and the issue just fixed itself immediately and the game works fine now.

Just a personal story of mine; do what you will everyone.

(and before you give me flac for any reason, I'm using a legally purchased digital copy of the game from off the eShop.)
rxTools is pretty old, but I get why people still use it. It's like u said

I can't trust sysupdater anymore after it soft-bricked my New 3DS, so I am stuck on 4.5. Well, no S/M for me.
