I would like to make an emuNAND and region change it from EUR to JPN on one of my o3DS XLs, is there a tutorial for this? Not SysNAND unless it applies for the same as in the holy guide?

Also it being an O3DS, will the eShop be accessible? I have NNIDs on all my consoles, would I need to use tiny format to unlink it?

EDIT: All of my consoles are running Luma + Updated sysNAND with A9LH

It was created a year ago and is probably outdated, thanks though

Just follow the region change on plailect guide but make sure you do the steps for the emuNAND. For example in section 3 step 2 it says "Navigate to SYSNAND CTRNAND -> rw -> sys", instead of selecting SYSNAND CTRNAND, select EMUNAND CTRNAND and so on...

Here is link to guide: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Region-Changing

I did this to set up a J emunand on my NA console, but WARNING I had to re-flash my sysNAND because I didn't select emuNAND for a change. Make sure you have a backup and re-read steps ensuring you are working on the emuNAND.

So make a backup of the original and then, do the steps but replace sys with emu? I'll be careful. I'll make backups of both prior.

Yep you got it, all the tools needed will have both Sys and Emu options. Also unlink your NNID prior to region change.

Not sure about eShop, I think it will work (may need to do 3 card trick), but don't think you will be able to have 2 NNIDs on that console (EUR on Sys, JAP on Emu).

Well, when I tried to make eShop work on region changed EmuNAND, I had 2 NNID's at some point. At least logged in. I think I can go and post freely in both JP & EU Miiverse. Haven't bothered to check.
Though, all I did had no success in launching eShop.

Before downgrading the emuNAND to 9.2 im going to sign out and tinyformat to unlink and then hope for the best~

I just tried entering Miiverse on EU EmuNAND. All went well...
Tried to use JP SysNAND's eShop, Miiverse, NNID settings — received error. -__-
It was scary. EU eShop, by the way, still gave me an error.
Fixed it by injecting blank NNID and easily logged into JP NNID. Glad I still got my purchases. Won't play with it ever again.

Good luck)

How do you inject a blank NNID? After doing it made errors on both sysNAND and EmuNAND?.. My sysNAND is EU.. which i use all the time for everything.. made a backup prior of the sysNAND and also emuNAND

So I followed the region changing guide to a T, now when trying to boot into EmuNAND im greeted with black screens.. fix?
Hm... If "to a T"...
There may be conflict between old EU data on SD card and JP EmuNAND. Just delete or rename EmuNAND releated folder, in the "Nintendo 3DS" folder.

I managed to load the emuNAND but it's still EU region..

When I load up SysNAND the gift wrap bug happens ._. That's because I need to unlink them? :s this is confusing and a bit annoying..

When I done all this my NANDs were unlinked.

So it seems region changing failed. Yeah... At first unlink them, then change EmuNAND region. I think it'll fix it all.

It's not really confusing or annoying. Just time consuming.

So do I do a system format on the emuNAND and/or SysNAND? With tinyformat or official format settings

What are you trying to do exactly? and what is happening atm?

I've region-changed emuNAND's a bunch of times, so I should be able to help you.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

    not really

It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
