ROM Hack Replace GBA and DS banners/icons with boxshots

So all banner changing guides I found require a fixed resolution/layout. On the Wii you could edit tpl files (if I recall correctly) to change the layout of the banner. Can this be done for GBA and DS CIAs too? GBA banners are basically a GBA screen with a purple border and DS/DSiWare banners are just the icons wrapped in a square border. What I want to accomplish is to replace those banners/icons with big plain old square boxshots of GBA and DS games. Something like this but not squashed:

DSI I don't know how the stuff work (because animated icon/banner), but it's valid for any cia.

I just used a biggest banner that I released here some times ago:

Extract the banner, open the CGFX in Ohana3DS, dump the png, edit with photoshop (don't change the size of the png file itself, but you can of course insert an image with the size you want) replace png rebuild banner install cia

You can do that, yes. It should be the same for GBA and TWL titles too. Don't ask me specifics, don't remember out of the top of my head tbh.

Put banner.bin in the same folder as HT3DS (not the setup folder, but where you main launcher app is)
Open HT3DS -> b -> 1
Banner extracted.
Delete banner.bin.
Do what I said (Open Ohana, Dump PNG in the CGFX, etc...)

Once the CGFX (banner) is edited, and the CWAV (sound) replaced (Make sure you have only these 3 files in ExtractedBanner: banner.bcwav banner.bcmd banner.cgfx)
Open HT3DS -> b -> 2
Banner is no rebuild.
Insert the new banner.bin where you want
