O3DS XL and 2DS aren't made to run 2.1 firmware either.
The screen glitches badly in the 2DS's case.
If i'm remember correctly, only new 3ds has an auto sleep function. This function is the only cause of bricked under normal circumstances.
The other models shouldn't have any problems if you follow the guide correctly.

And that's only if you put it to sleep, if you just speedrun on 2.1 you should be fine.

I'm not saying the downgrade to 2.1 bricks you, that's obviously not true. I've installed a9lh (and then ShadowNAND, and then 3DSafe...) on my 2DS and none of it has given me any trouble.

My point is that the path to installing a9lh requires the user to install frankenstein firmware that in many cases the console was never intended to run, and that naturally makes people a little more nervous. They're mistaken to be worried but I couldn't shake that feeling when I was first doing it.

It looks scary because of "might brick" warning. But it's a lot more stable compared to when it first came out and really most of the4 issues people are having nowadays seems to be human error.

I'm just curious if anyone around here has ever modded a wii? Soft modding mine back in the day gave me nightmares xD

Softmodded mine in 2014, was quite scary because I heard stuff about bricks, but all went fine and now I do some more dangerous stuff without any problem. I have also softmodded a PSP and PSVita since then.

Only four?? :) People should be far less afraid, considering the new guide is so much faster. Also the glitchy 2DS is because it's screen res width is half the the 3DS'.

Could someone here mabe tell me if my emunand is compatible for part 3 of the github a9lh tut? It's the part where your supposed to transfer your emunand stuff over to your cfw sysnand through the emunand9 setting of a9lh.Im still studieng it so I haven't attempted anything yet.

My current setup is

•9.2 sysnand/old 3ds

•Gateway emunand(the one where you format to the go.gatewaywebsite)

•Menuhax with rxtools shortcut

•Rxtools cfw

My question is will I be able transfer my current emunand stuff over to a9lh with no issues,or do I have to format my sd card to anoughter emunand before going through with the decrypt9WIP 2.1.0 downgrade?

That's all I need to know and I think I'll be fine.Sorry I haven't switched sooner but I just found out about this recently.

The Wii was garbage when it came to stability, it would brick if you merely looked at it funny.
Especially with the trash people were installing on it like cIOSCORP, bizarre downgrades and those useless menu themes.

Thank god for Bootmii.

i've softmodded psp, ps3, xbox360, vita (lol) and 3ds
even apple and android phones
i've taken the risk for of it and mostly its a success, and a bit of failure (RIP Note 2)
everything has a risk, only it depends on you to take it or not

Reason why I didn't installed arm9 is because I had working CFW (menuhax+luma) and what else did I need? I had working games and I was satisfied with it, so why should I change it. But today I have decided to install arm9 so can anyone tell me main reasons why should I install it and since I have working CFW, from which part of this thread should I start? from part 3? https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Decrypt9)

True. But the risk is significantly lower then it has been. If you come across an error then its most likely your own fault. Awww RIP Note 2 ='/

Good for you. No one helped me. I was begging for help on luma al9h installation but no one replied. So I had to do the things by myself.

It's one thing to create a whole topic just for a humblebrag. It's another to be a douche to other people when they agree with you that it can be a tricky process for a noob.

You followed a guide. Congratulations. That's called 'helping you'. Unless you wrote the tutorial you followed, or programmed the mods yourself, then someone most definitely DID 'help you'.

OK, If you say so. Since at first you said that downgrad console to an ancient firmware would brick it under normal circumstances.
Which if you following the guide, it's not true except New 3DS with auto sleep function.
Sorry that I misunderstanding you. ^_^

Well pretty much what I said in the OP. No failed boots or waiting. Easily transfer contents of SD to another (or even back it up). Its pretty much brick proof except in isolated instances. No need for emuNAND. You can update or format your system with no problems. And a slew of other things. Your system basically acts like a normal 3ds, but with all the benefits of CFW

OP:

One simple reason: I'm quite happy with my MenuHax + GW/rxTools/LUMA setup. Maybe I will update in the future when I've played everything I want to play, but changing to A9LH won't give me (personally) any benefits that I care about.

See and that's ok if you don't have any need for it. A lot of people simply don't mind using menuhax and that's fine. I just understand why people are so afraid of it.
