No need...you just have to install the dev version (which allow for the use of a firmware.bin file above 6.X) instead of the normal one...LumaUpdater can do that for you...^^

Thanks. Finally got ntr loaded again. I had to restore my 11.0 backup, dump native firm, and then install dev Luma. But with that ntr will load again on 11.1

After plailects guide, my system automatically boots into the custom firmware, doesnt it?
So, shouldn't I have to update my custom firmware only? And wouldn't this mean, that I only have to use luma3ds updater?

"Luma3DS" itself gets updates sometimes. it's your "arm9loaderhax.bin". it's separate from your system's firmware.

cfw is just something that runs over ofw and replaces code where necessary (like firm protection, region free, sig patches, etc.). It does not substitute main firmware updates in any way.

In these cases, I will always have to use the system settings update.

And the luma3ds updater can only be used, when the developer of luma3ds publishes an update for his luma3ds app.

My only problem with updating to 11.1 was it telling me DQ7 would be "available in 2 days!" when I tried to play my game. So I went back to 11.0 so I can play it prematurely Lol. (Even though it comes out tomorrow) #Meh

If you update Luma it will work, if you update your system via system settings, it will not.

Depends on what you're using to connect. Most games work until the update becomes forced, stock apps like eShop/Mii Plaza/Browser etc will require an updated system.

Or you can use ctr-httpwn to bypass the system updates for those apps as well. Really up to you.

I run Luma and haven't updated to 11.1, but I'm still able to connect to internet when playing FE: Fates.

And you will until the update becomes forced, so probably a week after it's released. Then you'll either be forced to use ctr-httpwn or update your system to use internet functions altogether.
