Hi there. Extremely new to all this, but I just used Browserhax to homebrew last night. Then I went to install Menuhax, but I got this strange error. After looking it up, someone said to delete the extra data folder on the sd card then try again, which did work. However, now everything on my home screen is gift wrapped and even if I unwrap them, restarting the system just wraps them up again. Anyone know how to fix this?

Unfortunately, this is how menuhax 3.0 was built. So technically, there is no fix for this.

question, can i inject sysnand to emunand?
if so,how?
right now i don't have emunand on my A9LH sysnand Luma3DS/GW.
There's no need to have an emuNAND. It just makes everything harder, makes it harder to get help, and doesn't improve anything (except avoiding an annoying message if you use Gateway 4.1 or 4.2).
If you must have one, you can use emunand9 to format your card for emuNAND (all files will be deleted so backup first)

after formatting,i need to copy everything to SD card then inject sysnand to emunand?

(help @aos10 first because he/she posted before me)

Hi,
I posted before but I couldn't find the answer I wanted at plailects guide, and I don't want to bother him with my noob questions.

I want to downgrade my N3DS XL (#2) using the dsiware downgrade method and I will be using my 2DS with a9lh exploit. (#1)
In system (#1) I have already installed games via freeshop and haven't created a NNID or bought fieldrunners yet.
Do i I have to format (#1) first before creating a new dummy NNID and buy fieldrunners?Or I format it and backup the nands and SD after I create the NNID and buy the game from E-shop?
Will the installed games from freeshop cause any trouble to the (#2) system that can affect the partial downgrade?

thank you!

Question to those in UK/EU who own a JPN console,

Is it possible to use a UK charger with the JPN console directly from the plug socket? Or do you have to use an buck converter? Thanks!~

(Im thinking of importing a JPN o3DS)~

oh right,i forgot.
but,will formatting will delete A9LH?
No, the only ways to get rid of a9lh are:
1. Restoring a pre-a9lh backup to sysNAND using Decrypt9 and not selecting the "keep a9lh" option
2. Uninstalling it using SafeA9LHInstaller.

I am 99% sure you can but I don't own a JP console.

so it looks like the latest luma 3ds (6.0.1 and probably 6.0 as well) have made the plailect guide a tiny bit out of date. theres no more luma folder in the zip to copy over but thats fine because reading the patch notes for 6.0 it mentions that it was removed because it'll create it on its own later. what is more concerning is getting to Part 5 section III step 2. It wants me to enable 5 different settings, but two of them are missing. Namely
  • "SysNAND is updated"
  • "Force A9LH detection"

I am assuming that they were probably removed for a reason, and that I should probably ignore it and continue on. But I wanted to ask here first Does the disappearance of these two options effect in any way what I will be doing in finishing the rest of the guide? Or is it full steam ahead?

They are probably force enabled as there is no harm in turning the first one on when using 9.x. The second one is gone because running through the bin = you are using a9lh.

Hey everybody. Even though I'm not what you would call a "noob" [I have a pretty in-depth knowledge of the 3DS by now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯], I thought I should post in here anyway because it is the question thread.
Anyway, I'm a9lh'ing someone's 3DS. This is my first time with the Plailect guide [and wow, is it good!] and everything's been sailing smoothly so far... Until now.
I'm at Part 3, Step 14; opening Luma. This consistently crashes with version 6.0. So I thought I would try 5.5, and boy that was a bad idea. The Homebrew Launcher would hang at a red screen every time, and strangely enough the Home Menu would fail to set up theme data when I thought I would go ahead and set it up. Only by wiping out everything on the SD card and copying all the files back over did it work again. Luma 6.0 still hangs at a black screen, as it's been doing all along.
I've heard things here and there about "incomplete downgrades". Is it possible that's what I'm experiencing? emuNAND9 set up redNAND perfectly [it might be worth noting that this SD card was my own old SD card, and had a GW emuNAND set up on it]. The downgrade also went perfectly, not a single failure.
What now? Thanks for the help :yay3ds:

What entrypoint are you using to get into hb (i assume browserhax or menuhax, but if its menuhax, what version), and have you tried using whatever tools people use to check for frankenfirmware (i don't know where to find these tools :/)?
