Krokodil isn't a drug. It's poison.

A drug in it's most literal meaning is a part of a plant with medicinal properties.
This does not benefit them in any way and causes great harm, so it's a poison.

True. Drugs have been around since before there was any "society" to speak of. Ancient man discovered certain pieces of plants that when eaten or burned and inhaled could make them feel pretty good. I feel that drugs are a part of the human experience, or else our brains would not have receptors that respond to specific drugs.

actually, here in quebec we have two word for drug : "drogue" and "medicament"
medicament are legal drug, while drogue are like those stated here.
however, a "drogue" is qualified to be something that influence the nervous systeme and may cause addiction, so the cafeine is a drogue.
The fact that it comes from a plant isnt a requirement to be a drogue since cocaine isnt from a plant, its purely chemical from what I heard.
