Actually all that is needed is using the latest official release which is version 5.5

I'm loving LUMA I just installed it a few minutes ago and configured it with with my boot manager.. I had a quick question is there a way to have a splash screen when I boot into Luma?

If you are using Menuhax, you can have a custom boot image.

I have added Splash screens to the first two but I can't figure out how to do it for Luma

go to more and look for Luma in your homebrew folders and add it by pressing x

I got luma3ds+amr9 and many back ups of my nand (with arm9 and without)

Can I update my sysnand so I can play online with out any risk ?

Yup, you can safely update. No risk. Also, be sure to be on the latest stable version of Luma3DS.

I'm new to 3ds CFW and am a little confused... isn't the point of emunand that you update it, but keep your sysnand version at 9.2, and there's no risk playing online because your emunand version is up to date? Are you guys saying it's risky to play online from emunand?

He said he had arm9, which means he's using an A9LH setup. Which means he can run CFW on sysNAND and does not need to use emuNAND. With A9LH, you don't need emuNAND//redNAND, you can have it if you want, but it's not exactly necessary, just optional.

Menuhax+redNAND//emuNAND users, should keep their sysNAND at 9.2 and not update, as they rely on 9.2 to boot into emuNAND.
