I have the Colourful Yoshis Cover Plate for my New 3DS, but it doesn't hold the stylus as strong as the default one.
I got the plate on the day it was released (I don't remember exactly, but I think it was about half a year ago?). It only fell out about three or four times since then, but I've decided to make this post after today it fell out on the bus, and I was really scared I lost it. I found it, though, thankfully.
Is there anything I can make the plate hold the stylus stronger with? (Yes, the screws are in all the way.)

That's really strange, the plates should have no influence on how the stylus sits at all. I can remove my plates and the stylus would still hold in fine. Are you sure it's not either the system shell, or the stylus itself at fault?

If I press the plate in a little, the stylus stays in there properly. I can try again with the default plates, if you want. Be right back.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I can confirm the default plate holds the stylus much stronger.

I really have no idea what to suggest. I have eight sets of plates, one of them doesn't even have screws in, and they all hold it together fine.

Does it feel like it's thicker (scratches against a table) compared to the original?

Red Xenoblade plates are affected too...

I think it's the same thickness as the original.

Are you serious? If I take off the bottom plate of my N3DS the stylus falls straight out if I so much as tilt it gently

I've never had OP's problem though, my cover plates secure it well enough. If you wedge a piece of paper under the plate that might tighten it, I remember that being a common solution to the Acekard2i's spring loaded MSD slot IIRC :ha:

Edit: Piece of tissue did the trick?

How odd. I guess some systems are just a little different.

What happened to my 2DS stylus over time was the little plastic nub wearing down, I slotted something in that little hole to push the nub out a bit and that helped :)
