Hacking Gateway 3ds: A9LH, Downgrade, Release Planned on May 22nd

As it seems there are problems that can't be fixed fast.

Even if you get it, don't use it without hardmod or you'll be sorry.

Im sorry but its exasperating when everyone is talking about the Sysupdater Tools as key for all our problems. Its a great work and i respect a lot all the work behind it. But they are not completely secure and the reason its still undiscovered. Kudos for all those guys who made it again to 9.2. But my real condolence to all of those who were blowed out by the softbrisk wave.

As i said, latest FW needed to spend at least 40 bucks for Zelda if you had a softbrick. I already spend with my friend 250 euros buying and pushing our N3DS with all it was needed.

GW at least promised a non-risky Downgrader and i put my money for it as i bought my N3DS XL after their announcement in 29 December.

And yes, their politics are f""""ing horrible but its the price i have to pay and im confortable with it.

If you think Gateway is going to magically make it better, I feel like you're wasting your time.

I'm just gonna say right now, I'm gonna be so pissed if Gateway doesn't release tomorrow. Saying soon and then waiting 5 months is insulting, saying next few days and then waiting 2 months is ridiculous. This is my last straw. Shits going down if its not out tomorrow.

Don't reply with "Oh just downgrade or use luma, or ahl9. I have my own reasons for not using these. But still I'm pissed I spent €120 on gateway about 6 months ago and I'm still waiting. It's bullshit the lies they tell their customers. And if I hadn't spent money on Gateway, then yeah I probably would risk Ahl9 or whatever.

Jesus Christ that's a steep price. Though, Flashcards are hard to come by in Europe. You have every right to be fed up with Gateway. If they won't be tight lipped about their releases, they should at least give us more reasonable explanations so that we're not left in the dark for unknown reasons.

What's really surprising to me is that they gave a release date. They've never done that before.
Wonder what made them so confident.

My theory is they're embarrassed by the long wait and used it as a tool for self-motivation - that's a stretch I know.

I think I'm going to attempt an arm9l install tomorrow if it gets delayed. Its going to be interesting what they release even if is released next week or whatever. If luck isn't on my side then oh well.

tbf its gateway and their users shooting themselves in the foot expecting to have a solid date from them
first they said it would arrive in the coming days
a month later they announce release on the 22nd
its the 21st and the beta still has not arrived

i have almost no more faith in gateway releasing at this point, but hey, we haven't heard from beta testers in awhile. maybe it means something

I have a n3ds running 9.0.0-20U with 10.7-33U emunand. When i boot my 3ds i use nds profile exploit then use my emunand to do everything. I also have hbl cia so i use homebrew in emunand. What would A9hl do for ME?

I would imagine that GW doesn't want beta testers to reveal much if at all, so that could explain why we haven't heard much.

I would think so too. Gateway has always been big on announcements (usually late ones) so i doubt they want anybody to know before release.

You would have access to mostly the same features, plus:

• 6-8 seconds boot time (so it looks and behaves like on a stock 3DS, except when your console boots it's already running a CFW and ready to rock)
• No need for EmuNAND anymore, you can be on SysNAND with always the latest version installed
• You have brick protection (software side) since A9LH boots even before your NAND is initialized. So you can flash backups in case something goes wrong.
