PlaiSysUpdater is the recommended downgrade tool as of right now. OTPHelper simplifies the process of n3ds unbricking, nand restoring, and OTP retrieval.

Hopefully the downgrade tool is as stable as 4.X downgrading.
Ok, so PlaiSys is a safer sysUpdater, how is it safer?
What does OTPHelper do to simplify the A9LH process specifically?

We just have to do testing on hardmods only to get out any bugs. as there is possible brick chance at present. Hopefully any bugs can be resolved quickly..

"We"? :P

Any chance you can give any details on what the GW Time Machine actually does to make a9lh installs easier?
or better yet a nice little hype video with red nails ;p

Do you think we will have a .bin file usable with Luma3Ds ?
I don't exactly understand how their A9LH will work.

I too hope that the a9lh support is compatible with what we have now, as it would make everything easier for the community. Also it would kinda be a dick move to not do that lol.

I still mainly use my GW since I really like the ability to easily drop .3ds files on a micro SD and having a fancy menu :) I also use a lot of cia but when I'm lazy and I don't want to go get my screwdriver or transfer a file by ftp for 1 hour, GW is handy.

It's been a while since I've touched my 3DS. Pretty cool of gw to remember me as an original beta tester. I should be getting it within 24 hours. What's with all the gateway negativity since I've been gone though? Every time something new gets made or copied from gateway or a previous CFW its celebration and praise, but when gateway does the exact same thing the pitchforks come out. Obviously the Gateway team has realized that CFW's are now the leading majority so it's not like they expect to keep generating massive sales. Their updates are for users who already own gateways (well except DS2+ people, although I'm not sure if that's still even a thing).

Thanks for sharing the news! I wonder how much more stable this Gateway A9LH installer will be compared to our current methods?

The last downgrader had 100+ successes and only one unconfirmed brick (see my last post for source). Hopefully this one will be just as stable. That's probably why they're taking their time to release it, to make sure it's good and ready.

Oh I mean more along the lines of softbricks and frankenfirmwares, and whether or not this new tool will be more consistent.

Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts on the beta release.

Gateway was famous for bricking not only the cart, but the 3DS itself when it detects that the Gateway cart is "fake"
Yeah, its business strategy for forcing people to not buy DS2+'s. What of it though? It's not like a genuine Gateway card has bricked since the reintroduction of brick code.
