Hacking I downgraded using SafeSysUpdater, but i can not get the gateway URL to load

Hi All,

I've been all through the forums, and the short of it is, i have a New 3ds xl that was on ver 9.6.0.24-u. I got the 9.2.0.20-u NDS cia pack, used this url for the process:

and successfully downgraded. SafeSysUpdater confirmed the files, and flashed them.

After about 2 hours solid of trying to figure out why go.gateway-3ds.com would not bring me in to gateway mode on my 3ds (yes i reset cache, reset my browser like 40 times, i have the latest Launcher.dat on the root of my sd card, i even tried re-formatting my sd card and ONLY placing launcher.dat on the card), all i get when i hit the URL is the black screen. It goes no farther.

I spent another hour researching why, found that SafeSysUpdater is guilty of partial downgrades, so i got the downgrade check tool (latest one committed 6th of jan). When i ran it i got the results if 1 extra file found, and 4 other files with expected and actual hashes varying.

I did further research and found that people seem to think that safesysupdater is guilty of saying it fully downgraded, but leaving remnants, resulting in a frankenversion at the end.

I did as suggested, grabbed a good copy of SysUpdater and ran it... it hit 2 of those files and updated.

Now when i run the downgrade check tool i get:

Checking installed titles...
title id 0x0004003000009e02
extra title
title id 0x0004013000001b02
expected version 0x0800
installed version 0x0c01

that's it. According to this page:

a poster indicated that these should not make a difference from another poster's question, as:

0x0004003000009e02
Amiibo settings
0x0004013000001b02
GPIO Module

and stated:
Dont do anything, your cfw will work fine


So my question is, are the 2 items above reason to block the gateway url? Why is this not working? Any help would be apprecaited... i believe i fully exhausted my searching, and i'm getting sick of reading 10's of 100's of posts saying "clear browser history, reset browser, try again, it WORKED!" as the only solutions i'm finding.

Additionally, i have homebrew launcher installed... is there a way to get gateway installed via a 3dsx file instead? Or is there a way i can get this browser addy to hit?

Simple reason, go.gateway-3ds.com doesn't work on n3ds due to the way Gateway loads the payload. All you need to do is get the 3dsx from the Gateway zip (download the latest version) and you should find a zip named 3dsx (it'll be a zip file in the gateway zip file), set that up like a normal 3dsx and voila, done.

oh my gosh dude, you replied to me seconds after i posted that lengthy post and gave me the answer i spent literally hours searching for! I don't know how i can thank you enough... i was getting ready to throw in the towel!

I'm now officially downgraded and running gateway mode thanks to your assistance! I have no idea why such a seemingly obvious item is so difficult to find regarding the new 3ds / url support! I literally looked at 30 forums that made no mention of this! Hopefully somebody hitting my same issue will hit this post before spending too much time!

It's mainly because no one uses gateway anymore and those who do usually just use the 3dsx or use MSET, anyways np and as always enjoy.
