Thanks, but the installation fails,too.

EDIT: To specify, I'm looking for the lastest build that doesn't fail at installation.

EDIT2: I read that this build was the newest one that worked. Does anyone have that build?

What are you looking for ? A9lh builds ? Check out a few pages before this one, and don't forget to install it via a 9.0/9.2 NAND. Then you're good to go with a9lh.
Regular builds ? http://signaturedestroyer.azurewebsites.net/ . These one work.

Edit : about the a9lh build : here it is : https://mega.nz/#!kA9QmDqa!hXv3v9xhDSLuOaaLnBX_rJ9ZdBxdSLm5aVSVnTXiF9k

How easy would it be to modify rx to boot a 2.1.0 emuNand? This way we don't have to risk downgrading sysNand to get the OTP. Just wondering.

Others have said that will not work as the part that's needed to get the OTP is still locked on the 3ds and the fw has to be 2.1 on the hardware itself

That makes sense to me now since even if running a 9.2 emuNand you still need the slots bin file if your sysNand is less than 7.

Just a thought.

Anyhoo just got my OTP on my NES 3DS XL. Now to get rxTools running on it (can't remember the last time I actually used sysNand to do anything other than to load MenuHax.)

EDIT: Just got the arm9loaderhax installed and wow does it boot emuNand fast. Now I just got to get rid of the rxTools splash screen and you won't know the difference except for the System Settings version string but I don't want to change that as it's the only way I know I'm in emuNand.

Are the NANDs still unlinked with the OTP?

If they are you can always use different themes :x

I want to do it, but I'm afraid to brick my Old 3DS as I still don't have a hardmod.

The OTP is just a console unique number and has nothing to do with Nand linking. My Nands were never linked to begin with as it's the first thing I do after creating an emuNand and they were still unlinked after installing arm9loaderhax. The only way for them to get re-linked is if I re-install emuNand.

I was nervous too but as long as you have a good sysNand backup, you can always install a hard mod later if you brick.

I have MenuHax installed in sysNand so if I want some homebrew, I hold L when booting an launch sysNand.

I almost crapped in my pants after I installed the arm9loaderhax. The first boot my screen said "Failed!". Then I realized, you idiot, you forgot to install the compatible version of rxTools. I already had the arm9loaderhax.bin copied.

Unfortunately there is no way to get your OTP using emuNand as sysNand has to be low enough to get it.

The hardest part was compiling the arm9loaderhax installer as I had to create a virtual machine to install Windows into it as I could never get 3DS homebrew to compile on a Mac nor Wii homebrew for that matter.

I like that I can change system settings without having to reload MenuHax and prey that rxTools (or MenuHax for that matter) loads as it frequently doesn't when I exit System Settings.

I'm thinking that we should use a shortcut when the Decrypt9 can be launched from rxTools. Maybe R.

arm9loaderhax + rxCFW(rxPasta) are a match made in heaven.

I still don't know how arm9loaderhax works, but it seems like you can use my suggestion and use different themes :P

My boot rate is OK, so I'm still holding back on reading about the a9lhax xD

And about the hardmod, I'd have to send my console to someone that knows how to do it. I don't have the equipment needed (my soldering iron is way too big). But I'll do it asap (:

Any chance someone can make me a blank image file for the top screen of the 3DS? I want that screen not to show the Welcome to rxTools splash. I tired on my Mac but I get syntax errors with the theme script.

It has to do with the fact that these newer eShop games use seed decryption. By visiting the game's eShop page, the games' seed is added to you seeddb.bin so the 3DS can decrypt the game. There are ways of using Decrypt9 to update the seeddb with the new keys but I can't discuss that here as it's considered piracy which is against the forum rules.
Sorry old post I know. Just a quick question, this is only for emunand though right? I mean, the following scenario is not possible correct?:
Using sysnand 9.2, latest emunand, using seeddb.bin from emunand to update the new keys for sysnand.

Maybe I'm a bit off on how it works cause I never used it, but I guess you get the gist of my question :)

I have a problem installing rxtools on my o3ds. Ive been following this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/ so far and managed to get my 9.2 nand.bin but I seem to have a problem on the next step where I have to find out if rxtools is working (Im using the rxtools files provided so far by AidanLumina). When I launch rxtools from HBL (oothax 2.6) I get 2 black screens. What does this mean and is there a way to fix it?

Okay I need help I'm trying to boot into HBL via Sliderhax but it isn't working at all. So, do I need to go out and buy a game and then update it and try again or what. My 3ds just freezes every time when I press the slider and it never goes past that. Firm Ver. 2.2.0 4U

There is no homebrew payload for 2.2.0 . Only for 9.0+
