of course we are open to that!

ok, it was a double joke
in the time the name came up, GW was really really slow releasing 9.2 support, also, I wanted to create a cool installer, then I use my imagination and... SOON! came up
also "SOON!" it's my TM, "SOON" it's GW's

Thats what I was thinking. Good one!

Keep up the good work.

When this tool we can install DLC and patch too? Somebody report if the patch works fine :O

yes you can install any cia , i am sure of that.

@Chelsea_Fantasy can i install cias and put my console in sleep mode? closing the lid. :) or is it like FBI and needs to be open ?

edit: for a future update, if you could add size of the mSD storage and size of cia's ,then this cia installer would be complete/perfect.

loving the picture thumbnails of the cias ! so damn good, finally something which looks fantastic XD , so heaps of thanks for making this very useful tool.

isnt bbm the same as devmenu but with a different banner and name?
BBM it's the 6.2 version of DevMenu with different banner and name (also "CTR DevMenu" changed by "Title Manager" in the top screen inside the app). There is a newer DevMenu 11.4 leaked somewhere in the darkness.

So I was genuinely curious: what cia installer reigns supreme? The creator of SOON! claims that it's fast... like very fast and that by not having the percentage bar, the time to install a cia is shortened. Because I had a lot of free time on my hands, I decided to put that to the test. So I decided to test two cia installers I thought were the most popular against SOON!: FBI and BBM and what I found was interesting. So to begin, all my trials started from a reboot. From there, I entered the cia versions of each and installed a game no one's heard of... Unchained Blades. I first tested FBI which took a respectable 10:15:88 minutes to complete. Next I tried out BBM and that took a bit longer standing in at around 11:36:77 minutes, so a minute plus longer than FBI. And then I went to SOON!, going into it, I thought that a 10 minute cia install was the minimum... boy was I wrong. SOON! managed to install the cia in 9:49:94 which is much quicker than FBI. And to add on to it, because SOON! doesn't have a percentage gauge, I was late in pressing the stop button on my phone, so it could've easily been 1-2 seconds faster than what I said.

So to recap:
SOON! - 9:49:94
FBI - 10:15:88
BBM - 11:36:77

OK, here are my speed tests.

Game: Extetra (478MB)
SD: 32GB Class 4 Toshiba MicroSD + a CHEAP Toshiba MicroSD to SD Adapter
Console: Launch Aqua Blue O3DS (4.5.0-0E) (yes, whitout browser)
Exploit: MSET
Custom Firmware: Player's Heaven (my private one)
EmuNAND: 9.8.0-25E

All the installers was launched directly from the home menu (installed .cia applications)
All the test was made with a fresh booted console (I turned on the 3DS and directly launched the installer)

Results (minutes:seconds:milliseconds):
1- SOON!2 v2.0.0 = 08:37:132
2- BigRedMenu 1.5 = 08:41:683
3- FBI 1.4.17 = 08:54:361
4- DevMenu 11.4 = 09:10:917
5- NASA 1.1 = 09:45:630
6- BigBlueMenu = 09:56:126

Conclusions and why the speed differences:
The fastest installer was SOON!2 and the slowest was BigBlueMenu.
Keeping away the Nintendo installers (DevMenu and BigBlueMenu) and FBI, I can almost ensure why the speed differences between the other three installers.
SOON!2, BigRedMenu and NASA runs under LPP-3DS. NASA it's an improved version of BigRedMenu.
While before start the installation SOON!2 draws the background, art and name of the cia file, then start the installation. While installing, SOON!2 does NOTHING but install the cia file. When SOON!2 finishes the installation it draws the game information back in the file selector.
BigRedMenu while installing shows this infomation:
( Installed MBs )MB / ( Total Size )MB
example:
75MB/478MB
and updates the on-screen information every 2MBs
NASA while installing shows this infomation:
( Installed MBs )MB / ( Total Size )MB
( Speed average )kbps
example:
75MB/478MB
800kbps
and updates the on-screen information at least 3 times per second (a lot of more times than BigRedMenu). It also haves to calculate the speed average before draw it.
In small words, the more you calculate and draw while installing, the more the installation takes.

Final recommendations:
- For installing Games / Applications: Use "SOON!2"
- For installing DLC and Updates: Use "DevMenu" or "BigBlueMenu" (*)
- For deleting games: Use System Settings and you will be able to keep your savedata, else use SOON!2 (it will display the cover art for you game, so you will not mess-up with codes and unique IDs, also it only shows SD titles)
- For deleting NAND titles: Use "FBI", "BigRedMenu" or "NASA"

(*) NOTE: Every HOMEBREW cia installer will have troubles installing Updates and DLC contents (by example: Custom Themes). If you do not trust me, just check the "Howling Theme Tool" thread, there are a lot of people talking about the troubles of installing DLC contents with Homebrew installers. To install Updates and DLC contents USE ONLY OFFICIAL NINTENDO INSTALLERS aka: DevMenu or his mod: BigBlueMenu (it it's illegal to give links here to them, use your Google-Fu to find them). To install Games and Applications (the things with the BIGGER size on the 3DS) you can use HOMEBREW installers without any kind of fear, they will install flawless and in most cases, will install faster (1-SOON!2, 2-BigRedMenu and 3-FBI are the fastest installers)

offtopic: @Rinnegatamante I recommend you update the average speed every 5 seconds and please, do the same for the size, in this way, the installation progress will end faster. You can make NASA almost as faster as BigRedMenu, just fellow my recommendation and you will see. One more time, thanks for give me a hand with the first SOON! version. Without you, SOON! and of course, SOON!2 will never existed. :)

Quick question: I know custom theme CIA files don't install correctly with anything that isn't DevMenu or BigBlueBox, does this CIA installer solve that problem?
When this tool we can install DLC and patch too? Somebody report if the patch works fine :O
yes you can install any cia , i am sure of that.
I will say this one more time:
Every HOMEBREW cia installer WILL HAVE TROUBLES installing Updates and DLC contents (by example: Custom Themes). Just check the "Howling Theme Tool" thread and you will see, there are a lot of people talking about the troubles of installing DLC contents with Homebrew installers.
To install Updates and DLC contents USE ONLY OFFICIAL NINTENDO INSTALLERS aka: DevMenu or his mod: BigBlueMenu

I love this. thanks for the hard work! Although may I suggest one thing? Every time I uninstall a title the list goes back to start and I have to scroll up to it again, It would be better if it just chooses the next title

Out of curiosity, what does the 11.4 version improves compared to the 6.2 one?

no storefront I'm aware of (at least on pc) requires the devs to pay for the keys they generate
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
they don't lose money doing this, even if someone decide to chargeback
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so that seems to be a pretty common thing, i kinda blame the dev for that one though as they were giving out like 5 keys to someone just because they asked for multiple copies for review for whatever reason and there were multiple people doing this. he should've seen the red flags
