Hacking my Wii U removed its DNS and tubehax ip setting?

So i switched on my Wii U tonight after plugging in the power as i always remove it and i noticed the Red X had gone from the bottom of the menu to say tubehax is working. Noticed a pop up about an update and pulled the cable instantly. Booted up the wii U again and went into my internet settings and it had switched on 'auto obtain DNS' and cleared the Ip address?

Now how the hell has that happened? i had the servers blocked in my router software. Has this happened to anyone else? No one else uses my system before anyone asks. Does the console loose its settings when it goes without power for days?

Nah, just joking. The WiiU doesn't change settings on its own and only changes stuff on user input. So either you or maybe a family member either accidentally deleted the
connection because they couldn't access the eShop or something similar, idk.

No, only me and my wife live here and she doesn't know how to switch the thing on. Im kind of weird'd out by it to be honest.

I'm assuming you were testing something, and said screw it for the night, and totally forgot. Even if the Wii U "lost" it's setting sbecause of being off for so long, that would likely, like 99% sure, include the access point altogether not just DNS. That's how CMOS usually works anyways.

I guess you could test by pulling your battery out of the side of the console after setting tubehax up. No idea what else it might screw with if you did that though besides Time and all that.

i work in computers for a majority of my work so dont dismiss me as an idiot. I swear nothing has been changed by myself. Maybe running something changed a setting.

edit: would formatting the SD card clear it?

Not to cause paranoia, but IF things happened as you said and it changed by itself, either somebody entered your house and changed it or Nintendo ordered your console to delete the DNS since it matched tubehax´s (could have happened the moment you plugged your console). However, this is highly improvable since no one has had any similar issues and Nintendo wouldn´t be stupid enough to forget preventing being noticed (example: the X in DM would have stayed) or Nintendo chose a random console that happened to be yours to test a homebrew wiping program or something along those lines. About the router blocking NUS´s URLs, maybe they changed them?
In short, like everything, it is possible, but not like in a really big possibility.
If I were you, try logging the packets of your network to check for suspicious behavior and/or wait for more things like this to happen in the community. Or maybe it´s just your mind playing tricks with you. It depends on your point of view, relativity and all of that.

Bad block on the network config file so it switched to defaults?

Even if you are using tubehax, add a router block just to be safe.
