It's only permanent until you get a Raspberry Pi, MicroSD Adapter, and 4 wires.

1) Why a Raspberry Pi? Can't you do a NAND backup / restore with Windows, OS X and Linux too?
2) If you don't have a backup of your NAND before the brick, I'm pretty sure you can't do anything about it. Except if you use the raspberry, the Micro SD adapter and the wires to invoke some kind of weird creature. Not the most common solution, but worked fine for me.

Gateway doesn't corrupt the NAND, it just locks it write only or something.
Hence why you don't need a backup, and you do need a Pi for low level access.

Its a 1-1 copy of gateway of course it's not permanent not even CFW can do that yet.

Nobody has confirmed it's a direct clone of gateway, and I doubt it is. It appears to run better anyway, and knowing SC, will have a nice interface with better emulators. Gateway doesn't even have emulators built in. So I think you're wrong!

based on the fact they use 4.4.0 fw in their 3ds video... i doubt this cart will work on newer firmware... so i dont really the point of them making this at all

So SuperCard is using GW's code. I don't think GW will like that very much and I can see them altering code again to prevent SC from using it in the future...

Videos of the DT+ running DS, SNES, and GBA games were also uploaded. Even with the new CPU, the DT+ still struggles to play SNES games (look at contra). It is better to stick to Ninjahax for emulators, unless you can use the DT+'s CPU along with the N3DS' CPU with retroarch.

I also found it suspicious they showed clips of at least every game except for A Link To The Past, where they just showed the title screen. Either it doesn't work that great or I'm reading too much into it.

You're definitely right about Ninjhax being the better option for emulators. I'm not seeing any benefit from the extra CPU in the flashcart at all. The extra CPU only works in DS mode and not 3DS?

They probably didn't have anymore disk space on their computer. I mean, that's the only reason I can think of. Who uploads 360p videos when the device they're using to record the footage films with 1080p quality?

I wonder if our staff contacts can get a review copy of this bad boy. SuperCard has always been a rock solid cart solution, whether it be the DSOne/ DSTwo or any of the others they have produced.

That said, I will believe it when I see it. This was announced (at least to the staff) like back last winter. Since then we have heard thing about it.

The original DS One was a pile of heaping shit IMO. Unreliable hardware, glitchy and messy Moonshell based GUI.
They made up for that with the DSTWO though, which is by far my favorite DS flashcart although I'll always have a soft spot for the CycloDS.

Also, most SNES games use a higher resolution than the DS is capable of providing, so even though the DS emulator they have is pretty good, it has to either clip the screen or use extra CPU power to lower the resolution smoothly, neither of which look all that great.

BlargSNES is not nearly of the same quality, but it does run at native SNES resolution and drop fewer frames. Hopefully, the features and compatibility will be added later.

That being said, if you want to run GBA games (or NES games for that matter), the Supercard is probably the best way to do it. The emulator is fairly accurate and gives a pretty good experience. There are ways to get GBA and NES games running in 3DS mode, but none of the methods are as facile (injection) or accurate (current 3DS homebrew emulators) as the DS2.

The DSTWO team have been consistent when it comes to updating the DSTWO to make it compatible with the latest 3DS firmware. If the DSTWO PLUS is the same thing, I will certainly buy.

Well, since it's basically a DS linker with the possibility of emulating gateway to play 3DS games, it will probably be compatible with any firmware for the DS side. For the 3DS side, it will most likely be the exact same as Gateway, so no 9.3+.

On a more serious note, as many have pointed out, it's just too little too late. It's not bad by any means (based on what we know at least) but it just isn't phenomenal. I wonder if the delay is due to them trying to combine everything into a single cart.

It's the same DS flash card that runs gateways code on consoles on 9.2 and below i'm far from wrong.
