I recently bought a Thrustmaster GP XID.
Now as it's name hints, i probably already have my answer... there's no chance it supports USB-HID right? I'm kind of a noob with such things.

all hid controllers are suported as long as you make a controller ini for it and place it on the root of your device that has the isos.

Is that controller using USB-HID though? Cause the name of the controller has the abbreviation XID. Was wondering if it's something entirely different which makes it useless on Ninendont. In case i should still give it a try, im kind of confused on creating the .ini as well, if you care to help me on that too and say clearly what i should do, it'd be great

I wanted to do a quick question:

If I want to load a retail disc with cheats through Nintendont, all I need to do is to create a folder with the ID and the GCT inside just like a game on a USB? Is that easy?

the easiest path is to use codes/gameid.gct, really the only difference between usb and dvd is the command to read its data, all the other code is the same so cheats should work just like that.

Does the original Wii (no GC ports) work with the official GC adapter for this? I've read that the adapter is not compatible with the Wii...

Hi I have a question and I'm not sure if it's been asked before.

I have a Wii U that has nintendont and CFG Loader set up and installed, and use a Gamecube controller through a clone of the official adapter. Everything is set up and works, except I can't shut down the system through the game. the R+Z+Start combo works to reset the game, but the R+Z+B+D-pad(down) does not. Pushing the power button on the Wii U works, but it reboots the Wii U which is an annoyance. Is there a button combination that works?

No, it works. You just can't use rumble, since you can only plug in one port
You can plug the second port into something else for power though. I have the second port on mine plugged into a powered USB hub (along with the Wii U HDD's Y-cable's second plug) as I don't want to have crud hanging from the front of my Wii U.

Careful when mixing power sources like that, unless the HUB is also directly connected to the Wii U.

Trying to set my nintendont up so I can play with both a gamecube controller and a wiimote+nunchuck. How do I set that up? I can't find a controller.ini for the wiimote+nunchuck anywhere.

They are both on the same surge protector, but otherwise independent. http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00GSNNWDA
If they were AC I'd be a bit more concerned, but as it stands it should be fine.

Probably.

And I found the combination to quit to cfg Loader. I don't remember what it is, but I should be able to find it quickly again when I get home.

It looks like that controller is XInput so it won't work with Nintendont.

Hi guys! Excuse my ignorance, I'm pretty new to Nintendon't and hacking in general, but it seems I cannot find a concrete answer to my question.

Anyway, I've looked over how to install this, hack the Wii, etc. I'm just about to buy an SD now. I'm looking at a Kingston Class 10 (32GB) SDHC mSD with an adapter. I've heard people say SDHC doesn't work, but I've heard others say it does on a 4.3 Wii. I've also heard people say that Kingstons won't work either. For Nintendon't itself or the Homebrew channel, I have no idea if this'll work. I'm looking at hacking with the "Letterbomb" method, btw. So yeah, will this mSD + adapter set work, or should I look elsewhere?

I didn't feel like searching the thread more because "gpt partition" and "gpt disk" didnt really show what I wanted, at least the results I checked, so I'm just going to ask. Does Nintendont support GPT disk type? Or is that an IOS thing?

SDHCs work fine on >=4.0 (Not in some games, however Letterbomb will work)
I've never had issues with Kingston or Sandisk or Lexar (3DS' SD card).

It probably doesn't - FAT32 works fully (maybe NTFS, USB Loader GX has support for it) and IIRC GPT is a Linux-based filesystem, so while we could develop a library for it (open-source) a lot of people wouldn't

wiimote and nunchuck dont use controller inis, only hid controllers use controllers inis, BT controllers are hardcoded.

GPT is not a file system, and has nothing to do with Linux.
GPT (GUID Partition Table) is a partition table type.

MBR partition table supports up to 2TB addressing. (32bit)
GPT partition table supports HDD bigger than 2TB.

I think Nintendont supports only MBR partition tables. GPT support is easy to add.
But if your drives uses GPT, it's more likely because it's bigger than 2TB, because there's no real use to GPT on smaller drives and MBR is set instead.
if it's bigger than 2TB, your drive is probably using 4096 bytes/cluster (or anything in-between 512 and 4096), which is not compatible with nintendont.

Drives bigger than 2TB with 512bytes/sectors are very rare.

I have a problem. I recently bought a USB stick with 32 gigs for more games. But when I start one, it'll load. But when it goes to Inting storage devices...
It stops.
It just stays there and I can't do anything. I need a fix.

I wouldnt see any reason for that to not work, the code is all in place for 4k support.
and @InsanePinkiePie well too bad for you, get a different one or a proper HDD, support for usb sticks is bad anyways on the wii.
