DSTwo looks way more expensive than the others; any advantages to buying it?

Also, are you limited by firmware AT ALL as far as choosing carts goes? For example, those above 9.2 firmware can only use Sky3DS for 3DS game emulation. Anything of the sort for DS emulation? Or every single one should work?

dstwo has its own emulators like a snes and gba... because it has a cpu inside...
if a card works on a 8.x (x=any) firmware it will work from now on. nintendo stopped blocking DS flascharts
however lots of cards where blocked on firmware 6 and 7...

Been meaning to ask, btw. What would happen if I put my original R4 card into my 3DS XL? The R4 is running the last Wood firmware, the 3DS is also up to date. I assume it wouldn't work but would it brick the system or anything?

No if you use an outdated flashcard the flashcard bricks not the console

Dstwo can play GBA and SNES games much better then ninjhax

It has antipiracy checks too so games like HGSS and BWB2W2 don't need to be patched

If you don't care about this, get R4i gold

Edit: The built-in GBA emulator on the 3ds is even better then the dstwo but you need custom firmware to use it.

Thanks everyone.

What is the difference between R4i Gold RTS and R4 SDHC Dual-Core?

Also, what is the best website to order such a cart for a European resident? Who can be trusted?

Don't buy a R4i SDHC because they are usually replaced by another card in a year or less. Buy a R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), if you want a basic DS flashcart. You should buy a Supercard DSTWO, if you want to be able to run more emulators.

I have a DSTWO, and while all the other DS flashcarts here are excellent suggestions, the DSTWO is certainly worth the money.
With the release of the custom firmwares for 3ds it has severely devalued the reason to buy a dstwo. The built-in GBA emulator in the 3ds has even better compatibility then the one for the one for the dstwo.
