at this point would it just be easier to buy a sky 3ds and run PAL cubic ninja off that? trying to find one that ships PAL CN fast to the US is seriously annoying. All I want to do is play my NTSC carts/access the eShop and they both will probably be like $80+?

yea... also makes it easier for future exploits.

You need to download a japanese cubic ninja rom and put it on your sky3ds. Then use it to run NTR 2.x http://gbatemp.net/threads/release-...gion-free-cfw-on-jp-eu-us-aus-new-3ds.385142/

After running NTR 2.x you will be able to play US games from retail carts or your sky3ds.

Running the various saves of CN for the exploits is one of the reasons I bought a sky. There is still that risk that it gets blocked in the future and gateway forces us to update sysnand beyond that cutoff. I think that risk is small,

I have never heard of downgrading past 4.x You are very lucky they didn't upgrade your FW.

I recently bought a sky3ds which I use with a Japanese n3DS firmware 9.6. I'm using the latest version of diskwriter and every game I try runs and SAVES perfectly. Every game except for Bravely Default: For the Sequel (J). Twice this game has erased my save game, and when it does the message it displays is in Japanese which I can't read very well (the game is in English past the menu screen). I thought I made out something in the message about "system data" and the "game data", but nothing else really. I'm not sure if this is an error with this game (rom) or if it has to with something that I might be doing to the sky3ds (like pressing the blue button at the wrong time, I notice if I try to cycle games too early the card stalls and I need to redo the triple insert process).

I've even tried to reload a save file through diskwriter but it does seem to take.

If this is ringing any bells for anyone and you think you might have an idea of what is happening here, please let me know. Thanks!

Hey, sorry if this has been asked before, but, I have a friend who may send me a 3DS and want to get a flash cart. I looked stuff up online and came across this:

This is real, right? Everyone seems to say flash carts only work on versions 4.1-4.5 but this one claims to support up to 9.2 and to be able to downgrade your 3DS to 4.5.

Make sure you are pressing the button after exiting the game so that it copies the save to the microsd. Try taking a picture so we know what the error message is if this doesn't help.

I wouldn't buy from that particular site (overpriced), but yes that is accurate. Gateway supports firmwares 4.1-9.2 unless your firmware ends in -0. You do not need to buy a gateway to use their downgrader.

Thanks Oshikatta I will give that a try, do you mean for me to press the blue button on the sky3ds when I exit the game, or when I power off the system? When exactly should I be pressing it? Also the error message caught me by surprise both times and only displays for about 5 seconds, if I can snap a shot of it in time I will post it here.

EDIT: I just want to be clear that all of my other save games are still unaffected. The game itself seems to be noticing that something not right and wipes the game as I am booting it up.

EDIT 2: I decided to start another new game, this time with the auto-save turned off to see if that makes a difference.

Just do what Oishikatta said. That's the easiest method that many people prefer. Finding a ROM should be easy, it should be on the internet.

Not in game it isn't. You need to download and install the update from the "other" site or to the spoof thing.

I have not seen anything that changes the situation. All the new CFWs are anti-piracy.
