So, tomorrow I am planning to purchase two MH4U retail carts (I have two 4.x systems with Gateway-flashcards running emuNAND 9.5). It is more convenient for me to have all my games running of a SD-card, rather than carrying multiple carts around.
Here is my plan:
- Dump the carts using Gateway to get proper private headers in order to be able to play MH4U online (it will be interesting to see if I will get banned or not, as I will be using the actual private retail cart headers for MH4U).
- Play the game offline and online in emuNAND.
A couple of questions though.
- Question 1: Is it possible inject the Gateway save-files into the retail carts again in case I want to play using the carts? Reasoning here is that I get better battery time if playing using carts?
- Question 2: Can I play the retail carts in Gateway classic mode and saves are stored on the actual carts? Not sure if this option is possible due to my sysNANDs being 4.x. Thinking of the encryption keys loaded at boot-time.
Question 2 option may be a bit dangerous as I might in fact update my sysNAND if the cart is started in sysNAND by mistake at some point. But then again I might as well downgrade as I doubt the system update carried on those carts are 9.2+.
What are your thoughts?
