Thanks. Started using GW since the 9.2.0 exploit only and don't know much about this issue. There's a thing called firmware spoofing that gets around that.
The only major issue I see with N3DS not having 9.5 emunand is that all those hoping to system transfer their stuff over to N3DS won't be able to because the target system (the n3DS) can't run 9.5 on emunand and system transfer won't work until it's updated to latest firmware.
It'll get hacked eventually. Unless it takes them over a year to do it, functionality will remain the same.
Glad I didn't jump on to the N3DS train too early, though. No real improvements unless you count coloring some buttons.
Right. "Going to be." And likely only one or two. That's not worth dropping another $200 to me, but it might be to someone else I guess. You forget there's going to be exclusive games that won't ever play on a regular 3DS.

N3DS does not have better hardware? WTF?
Firmware spoofing will not work if the game requires the new firmware to actually run properly.
I would bet the next Pokemon game might be an n3DS exclusive. Pokemon Ammibos anyone? that could be a pretty interesting addition to the main Pokemon series. Pokemon being exclusive to n3DS would be the only reason I would really attempt to eventually get a n3DS.

I heard the NN3DS will be shipping on 9.2 to the uk, not 100% sure though just what I have been told by a fellow friend that works at a game shop but not GAME itself of course.
Edit: but yeah worst case scenario I could still order an Australia unit from 365games.co.uk
