There is not going to be any homebrew for a long time.
Even if we had homebrew right now, would you really pick homeborew over the new Smash Bros? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Everyone seriously needs to just update already, I don't see how anyone has lasted with no MK8 online.

Just update, man. Homebrew may or may not ever come, but Smash Bros. is forever.

Besides, if Homebrew is somewhere on the horizon, it would most likely be compatible with the latest Wii U firmware. Nintendo can't patch out an exploit they don't know exists yet.

Decide what you value more.

I do wonder if Nintendo's realised that they need to have a large stable online server for Smash because there'll be a shit-ton of online players from the get-go. I'm going straight to online mode when I get my copy!

Honestly, as cool a machine as a wii u is, what exactly are you going to do or would want to do with homebrew on a wii u that you can't already do an a vwii?

Um, access everything the vWii can't like use the Gamepad (for stuff like porting Nintendont), the extra processing power/memory, and use all the libraries making it much easier to develop for?

Not paying for future games.

Though I think you guys have a point, when they release an exploit do they really expect that you haven't played a game in the last year? Seems unreasonable, not even Gateway expected that of you.

Update, update, update but please don't blame me if Homebrew comes around the following week after SSB is released. I've updated, on 5.3.0 now waiting for Smash and Toad for that matter, hopefully the WiiU version online will be much better than the 3DS version cause that sucks! :)

This is extremely conflicting.

Why would it come out a week after?

Make up your mind man and flesh out the response a little, why do you say it's coming out in a week? Is that just to cover yourself or do you have anything to stand on?

I was joking with you bud, I have not got a clue anything will be out in a week I was just saying if you update to 5.3.0 don't blame me if Homebrew etc. is out a week after Smash release cause Brawl on the original Wii had so many flaws for exploits it took the piss! Update though in my opinion don't miss out cause this SSB on the WiiU I can guarantee will be tight m8 this time around :)

Seems like the best option but not everyone can afford it.

Wii U console units are going for $100/£70 on eBay so it's not like he couldn't afford it, the flashcart/key is probably going to cost as much so that's a poor excuse.

If you can't really own it then stick to the older consoles which are cheap.

Or I got one a while ago and my financial situation changed.

You really shouldn't make assumptions about people, seriously not cool.

Man who said anything about stealing? It's all about borrowing and easy access.

Is borrowing discs against the law now? It sure as hell isn't in America.

You're just sugar-coating it to seem like you're not doing anything illegal.

And you've also said this too:

Not paying for future games.

You know, at least be honest because a lot of members here do steal/pirate games so you're no better than them.

Not here in Australia. Wii U are still over $200.
