I'll try to take a look at some of this this weekend, but I don't have two WUPCs, so this bit: can't really be looked at by me.

Also, one minor thing, if you're basing this player "taking over another" experience on the LEDs on the Wii remote(s) and the WUPC(s), ignore them. libwupc keeps track of WUPCs separately from wiiuse, meaning that in theory up to 8 controllers total can be connected to a homebrew program. If it's based on playing an actual game where the controllers "hijack" each others' physical controls, forget I mentioned it.

When Classic controller for player 1 is active, WUP hijacks that signal instead of initializing as player 2, and vice versa. Since there are no player 3 and 4 slots, I think it would work best if there were either a WUP option in controller settings, or when one CC/P or WUP is already active then the next controller becomes player 2.

as daxtsu said I need to manually keep track of the pro controllers thanks to wiiuse having the variable privately used in the library so I have no access to it whatsoever. We cant change the playercount whatsoever.

Well that sux. :/ I mean Nintendont properly syncs classic and WUPC correctly. I wish a similar method could be used for WiiSX. :(

Just curious, has anybody looked at adding support for this in Retroarch?

There's a new version coming soon so it might be worth waiting, but it is actually the best emulator for many formats due to the inclusion of custom 'cores' with speedups. For example, Retroarch's Snes9x Next core is faster than Snes9x GX. It is the only Wii Snes emulator that emulates Yoshi Island with no drops in framerate at all (same benefits in other SuperFX games too I guess). The new version is also going to have a faster, more compatible GBA core based on TempGBA.

This is not a feature request because I don't have the skills to do it myself so I can't expect others to do it! Just making people aware that it is probably the best emulator for many formats.

Daxtsu, your WiiSX mod is based on which mod?
You said you used Matguitarist mod, but there are different ones.

Mod02 is using IOS202 and has faster USB access.
Mod04 is using IOS58 but slower USB access, which could cause video lags.

I'll add your mod to the wiki page too and tell which version it's based on.
Which libogc/devkitPPC version did you use?

It's based on "mod05" since that one was the most 'modern' one. It compiled with virtually zero changes in the latest devKitPro. It probably wouldn't be hard to adjust it so it uses 202 for better USB speeds, but I'm starved for time at the moment (so I haven't looked into anything related to WiiSX, sadly).

is mod05 the one from filetrip listed as 2.1.1[a]?

Don't worry about modding it again to improve speed. I know what it is to miss time, I asked only to know which information to write for the wiki page.

So how are things going? Any luck? :)
If you're asking about WiiSX, see below:
