Gaming Sol Trigger - English Translation

I agree that Last Ranker is pretty fun, though I haven't finished it yet. My only complaint is the lack of any story even though I'm 10-15 hours into it. But the battle system makes up for it. I also liked what I played of Fate/Extra CCC.

Hello i have a quick and blunt question about this project.
Howmuch of the still active member's time of this project is spend on this project - hours a day / hours a week / hours a month well you get it.
And what is the most needed part of projects like this Romhacking Translators etc.

I plan on learning all kind of stuff to help projects while currently knowing nothing i wish to learn and help others in ways i can on the long run.

I can only speak for myself, but I do translation, and I try to work on the project at least a couple of hours a week. But it varies. A while ago I needed to take a longer break, while at another time I plowed through several chapters of the story just translating the main script. You get the idea. I'd rather take it slow and not get burned out, I'm just one guy after all.

I suppose it might be relevant to mention that (as far as I know) at the moment I'm the only active translator working on the game. I wouldn't mind having one more person on the team to double-check everything and possibly offer ideas/help/second opinion on the translation. An editor couldn't hurt either, though I'm generally fine on my own. But some quality control is never a bad thing.

Last Ranker was an AMAZING game. Don't think anyone ever translated it.

IMO it's better than Sol Trigger~

I think StorMyu is translating it, im not sure tough.

I am sorry i cannot help you as of yet because i still don't know how to doo this stuff but if someone is willing to teach me from scratch i am more than willing to learn and helpout

My score on english for last year tests whas 4.5/6 but thats not enough i think. Still possible major improvements.As for Japanese i know only few words and im guessing the most of them hehehehe he .... theres room for impovements tough
And my Super Ultra Rare skill as human being is Fast Learner helps alot, tough it works only for stuff that i want to learn to improve myself

That i have no friends as of yet does not mean i never had friends its just that most of them betrayed me or ive lost touch with them. Im still looking forward making all kinds of friends

Sorry if I'm asking something that could be found via Google, but I need to have up-to-date info on this. So... what's the best way to do savegame editing? Basically I want to make my characters in Sol Trigger OP as hell with insane stats so I can breeze through battles/dungeons. This would considerably boost my translation speed obviously. (I've already beaten the game once but there are multiple story routes and level/gear don't carry over to New Game+ so I'm kinda fucked.)

So if anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Cheers.

I can only give you an update on what I'm personally doing (aka translation). Keep in mind that this is all just the initial translation, it has not been proofread, double-checked or anything like that. Not yet, at least.

Menus/items/skills are pretty much 95% done, it's been like that for a while now. There are a couple of things that are context sensitive and I just haven't gotten around to them. Also, this does not include "Word", which is basically the in-game encyclopedia, I haven't touched that at all.

Main story script (as in, strictly just the story-related cutscenes, not the miscellaneous/optional dialogue) is progressing well. I'm almost done with Farel's story and decent chunk of Lars's side has also been translated. But there's still quite a bit left to do, so don't get *too* excited.

I've barely touched NPC / miscellaneous dialogue, and there seems to be a fair amount of that too. I translated a bit of Chinami's dialogue but that's about it.

So that's about it I guess. I try to put some time aside for the project but I work full time so my free time is limited. And I dunno how sub and omarrio are doing with their stuff, you'll have to wait for them to reply.

Encouraging to hear. The story itself is pretty linear so there isn't much NPC filler dialogue like a LoH game. I do remember the codex was pretty extensive. Not Type Zero comprehensive but fairly large. Keep up the good work and take your time.

So, uh, maybe a silly question but is this project still going?

I'm only asking because there's a person on Youtube who took the xenotranslations website going down as a sign of the project being cancelled and intends to start working on it by himself (he's already made a rough menu patch). He also wants to work with my translation so far. I'd like to tell him that our project is still alive (I'm still working on the translation, personally), but I need a quick confirmation to be sure. A simple yes/no would suffice.
