Valkyria Chronicles 3 Extra Edition DLC Translation​

Goals and Intent of Translation:

• A full translation of the paid DLC that isn't included in the base game of Valkyria Chronicles 3 Extra Edition.
• A translation that balances accuracy and the feeling of an official localization. Some creative liberties are fine as long as the general intent and feel are conveyed, but shouldn’t show up often.
• Names, terms, and general formatting must be consistent with the official localization of VC1, VC2, and VC4.

Latest Update (8/31/2025):
I found a translator for the project around late July, but they told me that they might not be able to translate heaps at a time due to work and other commitments. They also said they can hook me up with an editor too. We got two and a half of six cutscenes mostly translated within the first three or two weeks which I felt was good progress at the time!

Unfortunately, things slowed down after that initial burst of progress since we’ve all had some stuff going on outside the project. I thought we wouldn’t need extra help especially since the scope here is much smaller than translating the base game but I realize now that additional hands could really help us keep up the momentum.

So, if anyone is interested in lending a hand with translation, it would make a huge difference and help us speed things along!

Been working on a text extractor and injector for Valkyria Chronicles 3's DLC since it didn't receive a English translation yet. In the video demo, the script is based on the link from the fandom page below with some minor edits to make it flow better. I also used Kaina Summer's translation as reference. I wanted the translation to have the same feel as SEGA's official localization for Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 2. The fandom's translation matches with what I was going for so I decided to based it on that. I don't know how good or accurate the translation is but I'm just using it for demonstration purposes. What's shown in the video is not final.

I am looking for Japanese to English translators/editors as volunteers to help finish the English translation for the DLC since I don't understand Japanese... I am hoping for a complete translation that should have same vibe and feel of SEGA's official localization.
The focus right now is just the paid DLC that is not included in the base game of Valkyria Chronicles 3 Extra Edition. Re-translation of the base game is considered if this goes through.
