So, let me understand: when we have the 2.0 update is it safe enough to update to latest fw or still better to wait for a possible "stronger" exploit (smealum's cfw ?) exclusive to fw 4.5? Or it's useless to wait because you still have a 4.5 backup on the SD that you can use whenever you want?
Also if i'm correct, this means people can buy a legitimate Pokemon X/Y and play it in normal mode, then can return to fw 4.5 for other things ...
P.S. some people still complain no fw 5 & 6 support. While you are seeing they are doing almost everything for the current one with appearent easiness, you must accept that finding a new exploit on higher firmwares is a total different thing, much more difficult (and luck-dependent).
Correct.
Hypothetical question: Why the hell should I be grateful for the things that a product can do if some people like us are unable to use said product? Or rather, why should we even fathom to support said product and the people responsible for it?
i am wondering if i can do by that a system transfer to another 3ds for example i have a 3ds on latest firmware with ambassador and pokemon x and a gateway 3ds xl ,by using the nand emulation can i transfer my ambassador 3ds games and pokemon to 3ds xl 4.5 firmware? on the micro sd firmware emulated nand?
The most important question for me is: Can you play retail games that require 6.x with your emulated NAND? I'm not really interested in buying a Gateway. But I own a Supercard DS2. So, might it be possible to run Gateway installer with my Supercard DS2 (technically it should be same as running it with the blue Gateway Card)? Because, if this is indeed possible, I could backup my NAND, emulate it and play my retail Zelda: ALBW in november without needing to buy a Gateway.

Now people who use this new version will "update" their firmware to 6.3 and brag about it to others who updated to the real 6.3
Let's see what the GW does so far....
Dumped ROMs
Dumped and emulated Nand
Firmware spoofing
eShop access on hacked firmware
Essentially running unsigned code on 3DS mode
Whoop-dee-shit. Doesn't mean a thing to us. I'll spend the $80 on something else
This is really great..... GW delivers more then I ever expected. After regionfree and firmware spoofing now EMUnand!
What I don't understand is people bashing the GW team for not making the card 5.x or higher compatible. If there is no exploit well.... then it wil never happen...get over it!
GW team doesn't owe you anything. We -almost- all knew the limitations of the GW and I also expect that in the near future even firmware spoofing won't be enough (games needing some new api-functions in the 7.x firmware).
Still IMHO GW team -as makers of a first generation 3DS card- is doing a great job.
