Reddit, the so-called "front page of the internet" is not just for quick links. There's also varied discussion topics, and one very popular feature is an "Ask Me Anything" session, where one user can state who they are and/or their profession, and for a period of time anybody can ask them questions.

Adding to the flurry of excitement for Terraria's latest expansion/update, Redigit (the lead developer coder man-thing) has hosted a session. People have asked (and he has answered) all sorts of questions ranging from technical changes to the engine, tactics and balance changes, to even questions about his own life and programming experience.

While Redigit has tried not to provide too many spoilers (instead opting for generic descriptions and numbers above names), there's still plenty of info about what's in the new update, so if for some reason you don't want to know ahead of time, you might want to skip out on this read.

Did anyone ask wheres the Vita version?
Was meant to be Summer release.
He's not the one doing the Vita version, he said he doesn't know when (insert whichever specific company it is doing the Vita one) is going to be done porting it.

Wait a minute here. Something's not right. Looks like it's time for Detective Gahars to crack the case...

"Redigit." Hmm, break it apart and you get "Re-Dig-It." Add in another "g" and this becomes "Re-Digg-It." Reddit is Digg's successor, its "redo" if you will. But wait, there's more! "Redig" and "Reddit" are pronounced exactly the same, except for... except for the "g". Redigit is a man distinguished by this "g," making him a "G-Man."

Terraria, Reddit, the alphabet, Half-Life 3, the government, this goes all the way to the top. EVERYTHING'S CONNECTED!

Does anyone know what time it will be uploaded to steam?
All the previous updates have been distributed to everybody within a few hours, which indicates that it was rolled out beforehand. I'd guess it's already there, waiting on the timer that nobody's paid attention to until now.

"When using a gravitation potion your world will invert rather than your character."
That sounds... confusing.
"Each biome will now have chests and pots with unique graphics."
Chest collecting time :D
"There are 12 new wing types."
:O
"There game will now ask you if you want to use UPnP to automatically port-forward when hosting multiplayer."
Finally no more need for manual port forwarding? :D
Also, space has its own soundtrack now? Does that mean it'll be used for something?
Can't wait

On a more serious note, no special event on the Temp for Terraria's update ? We could do a multiplayer session in a few days, or a live review

UPNP isn't foolproof, gotta' have supported router that does it, it may rely on the PC being given it's addressing through DHCP depending on the implementation, and if somebody's using an overbearing-as-fuck AV/security system, that's going to stop any hosting in it's tracks too.
