Because someone has to piss in the cheerios.
Once again, Nintendo did not speak to Wii U performance in the NPD report but it did say that New Super Mario Bros. U has sold more than 830,000 copies since it launched last November. Unfortunately, that's the top software seller for the console thus far.

;o;, I beg you don't cry, there is no need to be upset,
, no gaems, le ruse cruise, etc., etc.
Seriously, though, Nintendo must be pretty satisfied with the turnaround the 3DS managed. They turned a clunker into something actually worth purchasing, with a reasonable price and a solid library of titles. Sony could stand to take a few notes here and there.
However, I'm a bit skeptical of the Earthbound bit - the game is selling "well," sure, but without any exact numbers, it's impossible to tell how good "well" actually is. Plus, no matter what they are, I have to wonder how much better they'd be if Nintendo didn't (stupidly, in my opinion) exclude it from the 3DS Virtual Console as well. If you want to broaden the audience for your series, it helps to target a broad audience first.
