Also I asked them about Firmware 5.1.0-11X support, this was their response:

We can't not confirm any date on this, we will post news once complete.

Doesn't sound to encouraging... Who are those ppl that CAN make use of this product either way ? For as it is now it seems like a cheap cash in.

i believe there not working on 5.1.0 3DS Firmware support

they are working hard on making there "3DS Mode Alt DS Firmware" support 5.1.0 roms on the 4.5.0 3DS firmware
and also working on the NAND save fix for Animal Crossing

we will know more when we get our hands on it

and there is issues on engrish with some of the communication
but saturday is definitely shipping day

So? Why would they make one? Going for the latest is best, since you can always use a game to update you to that specific version. So there's more consoles that can hit 6.x than 5.x.

And the larger your potential audience is, the larger your potential profits.

I'm sitting back watching with interest on how all of this will pan out, I don't have a 3DS at the moment and while I don't mind buying games I love me a flash card, that said I am also sure others will follow in gateways footsteps and improve on there methods for less, for me that's when to invest

Now I'm still at 5.x but I'm thinking about just updating to 6.x... What I've been worried about is if 6.x support is impossible, while 5.x might just become possible. 6.x might have blocked some new huge thing? I don't know, that's just why I've not updated yet.

If I were you, I wont update. I got Stuck to 4.x because R4i gold 3D rev6 did not work with 4.x I was hope they would do something but still. and thank to them, I can now use Gateway
